As you know with the Gamecube, it had many great quality games, the cheapest price, and nice accessibilty. It had a great launch with Factor 5's Rogue Squadron, and was on par with the current consoles at that time and it looked better than the 64 editions with better gameplay.
Plus it started out great with getting nice third party support, dont believe me check out the support by EA, Ubisoft, Activision, LucasArts, THQ, Capcometc.
The thing also got nice sports games as well. Just look how bad Live 08is on Wii. Not to mention the great 1st party games as usual.
Now it is behind in sales.
Now the Wii comes out and uses a big name game which was actually a GC game, Twilight Princess to push sales. There was no notably difference in terms of graphics. Isn't that what jumping into next-gen all about?
Now the Wii sales are skyrocket high but yet it is not getting the same quality games as the GC and thriving off PS2/GCN ports, casual games, minigames, etc.
The Cube tried to sell with great quality games and believe me there were so many of them and 3rd parties really did care about putting alot of multiplats on that system that scored well across gaming sites. We get more 3rd party games for the Wii but yet they are not quality games.
My question is how could the GC sell so low with so many quality games and the Wii sell so rapidly and high with games not reflecting quality?
I don't get it honestly. In my perspective the GC should have sold more and it was everything you could have in a next-gen console after the 64. The Wii should be selling alot worse than it is because the quality games are not there and the jump from GC era is hardly noticable.
If you say it is the VC, then I can say the Cube can play all Game Boy Advance games, with the GBA adapter.
Very sad and confusing.
