Yes, I know: this is system wars. There is probably a idiot fanboy out there will will give me completely false info, and try to convince me that console x is worse that console y. Basically, all I need is this: is the PSP worth getting at this point? I love strategy games for handhelds, and the Ds has quite a bit to go before it gets those games. So I was going to buy a PSP.....good idea?

You can have my PSP, I haven't played it in probably 7 months. What does that tell you about it?

Both are great systems. However, like the_h_bomb mentioned, when it comes to the world of handheld videogaming, the DS is a must-have, the PSP is an optional addition to your console repertoire.

Personally, I have a DSLite and my little brother has both PSP & DSlite. I still prefer my DS and he enjoys the DS more than his PSP. That's not to say that the PSP stinks : in retrospect, some PSP games surpass many DS games in the A-AA category (Lumines for puzzles, FFVII Crisis Core [yes he imported it] for action RPGs, Jeanne d'Arc for sRPGs).

In my opinion, I'd use the money consecrated towards a PSP and opt for a Wii instead. It isn't much more expensive, and if you can find one, it is well worth it, probably more so than a PSP, seeing as you already have a DSLite.

DS is great for RPG, PSP is exelent for racing, by all means get a PSP, its a great system in its own respect, but as others have said DS is a must have and PSP is nothing more than a nice addition to your gaming experiances

:? DS has more RPGs. PSP is better at sports, racers and third person shooters. DS is pretty much better in everything else.

That tells me you aren't buying games, there have been a lot of games coming out for PSP.

@peter1191 If you have or plan on getting a PS3 that is another good reason to get a PSP. Personally I've been really happy with my PSP. I bought it when it first came out and honestly the games kind've sucked. For a long time it was basically considered a small version of the PS2. All the games were just ports. So I bought two DS lites, I loved it. Over the last year and half though PSP has gotten a ton of great games and has since replaced my DS Lite as my portable system. PSP is awesome, Sony didn't give up on it and has turned it around into a great portable. Both are good though. You can't go wrong with a DS or PSP, but I'm preferring PSP right now.

It tells me he probably has a PS2, because most of the PSP's great games were either ported from or ported to the PS2.
