I got banned from Xbox Live

Perhaps I shouldnt've talked so much trash while playing Team Fortress 2 and saying just HOW bad it runs on the 360 compared to PC.

In every MMORPG you can get banned/kicked for a limited time if you are abusive or cause any trouble to other players. Basically, being abusive gives the same punishment as hacking, only that the punishment isn't that harsh.

Well. It does make sense that freedom of insult may not be a part of XBL. I'm just so used to hearing people do it a lot, that it didn't really come across my mind that people could get banned for their exchange of words.

Yeah, That is probaley because every body doesn't have a mic on PS3.Whenprevious is compared to console and mic ratio I am willingto bet Xbox has way more per system.I rarely heard any game chatter during my sessions. Trash talking is part of online gaming Ive been dealing with it since Quake and Quake II. People were even saying "owned" then.

I'm not entirely sure on the reasons though.

I share the subnet with a friend of mine, and his Xbox 360 is supposedly modded (flashed), dunno if that might have any effect.

But he still plays freely.

I think the abuse of insult is ok to get punished for.

I would prefer to be silenced for a period of time instead of banned. That way it would make sense.

What do you guys think? Silence > Bannishment. That way you pay for what you did, but still get the most for what you paid for. :)
