Like, I like Halo 2, but Halo 3's beta is AMAZING.

It's like... Miles ahead of Halo 2. It may be familiar on the surface, but they've tweaked so much stuff to be just perfect. Everything's just been done perfectly. From weapon placement, map flow, gameplay mechanics, damage tables... Everything.

One thing I like is that you die and kill a lot quicker in the beta, and melee attacks have been beefed up a bit (at least from what I can tell), giving the entire combat a much more fast and intense feel.

Like... It's amazing what they've done. The pacing, weapon placement, map design, map flow, new game modes, everything just works together perfectly.

On paper it SOUNDS similar to Halo 2, but below the surface there's a massive amount of tweaks and rebalances; stuff that you have to experience first hand before you can get a feel for how much better they make the game.

Cool. The general consensus on this seems to be positive.

Looking forward to playing Halo 3 MP later this year.

I like the gameplay fine but I still hate the matchmaking system. Thats what completely ruined Halo 2 for me. Give me a true custom match server select system like GeOW please.

Yeah I have to agree the game may seem like Halo 2 on the shell but its definatly feels way diffrent than Halo 2, they did a good job on mixing halo 1 and 2 and adding new elements also.

No classes would be stupid for halo and most people only play 4vs4 highest most of the time.

All you described were enhancements to what was already in the previous Halos (weapon placement, speed,  pacing, map construction). Whats NEW that makes it 'Amazing'.

This is interesting because all i hear every GeOW player complain about is how they wish that it had a matchmaking system more like halo 2's.

I have no clue, where your getting that information from but considering the fact that the original halo 2 supported 16 players on xbox, shouldnt the next generation of xbox be able to support more?. Maybe Microsoft should stop using P2P to support more then 16 players?

And Classes would add depth to the Multiplayer. Or better yet some sort of objective based Gametype like Conquest or Onslaught

Im talking about the fact that almost everyone enjoyed playing smaller matches rather than big matches with a lot of people so making it more than 16 would be pointless.

Also no classes would not add depth it would be changing halo into Battlefield 2 with shields and future guns.  Halo isnt about having Medics or pilots that can only wield crappy guns but have more shield or ammo when flying.  Halo is a fast paced game and thats the way it should stay.  Also there is many objective games in Halo 1, 2 and 3.  There are many diffrent gametypes like Conquest and Onslaught.

Again, I have no idea where you are getting this information from.

You obviously have never played UT, or Quake to realise what fast is.

CTF, TS, Team king of the hill dont count. I have yet to play a halo 2 game where the team actually co-operates instead of just going for the best weapons on the map.

What?

lol geez your thick headed.  How do you not have any idea of what Im talking about? Im explaining it to you plain and clear, even bungie themselves have said that they have noticed the majority of people on Halo 2 have enjoyed smaller games rather than full 8v8 games.  THAT is the reason that its pointless to make it support more because everyone would be playing smaller matches anyway.

Also by fast Im not talking wham bam thank you ma'am style Im talking somewhat fast paced that having medics and other classes would be pointless because everyone would just be killing rather than healing.  Again this is HALO not BATTLEFIELD, learn to realize that every game doesnt have to have a certain feature to have depth to the gameplay.

As for Halo 3 not being about co-operation your wrong.  They balanced the weapons very well now so its not just about who gets the BR or other strong weapon.  Territories is a good example of co-operation in Halo 3 or VIP mode;  In territories you have to work in groups to take the territories in a certain ammount of time where the defenders try to keep you from taking any.  Once you take one it gets locked in and you cant switch it so each round you have to work together to either stop the team from getting the spots or get the spots.

This is interesting because all i hear every GeOW player complain about is how they wish that it had a matchmaking system more like halo 2's.

I just like having the option of choosing which map/gametype I wanna play when I wanna play it. With Halo's system they pick for me. For example. Say I wanna play 2 flag CTF on a certain map. With matchmaking I'd have to pick Team Skirmish and then hope the system picks the map I want plus the gametype I want. But no I get stuck playing Team Oddball or some junk on a lame map. This is very annoying to me. Sure at least now on H3 I can veto that selection, but then I'd need a few more people to veto it also, only so the system can go on and pick another map/gametype I don't want to play. Thats why I hate matchmaking. A simple server select system would not have this problem.

Its pretty easy to make friends on HALO3 so if you want to do custom stuff just make a circle of friends and build off them. The Beta is 3 multiplayer maps one small one medium one large. Its got a few new weapons and everything old is new again. Its intensely fun and often hilarious. Everyone is either giggling or cursing. Quite a romp!

Blaspheme :o, get Quake 1-3, Tribes or Unreal Tournament. For console standards its probably faced paced, but its not a faced paced game.

I hope that Halo 3 will encourage many Xbox 1 players to jump ship to the Xbox 360. Bungie is going to be swimming in $$$ on 25th of September... :)

I don't know about classes but I wish they have 24 players atleast like COD3 and made bigger maps using their vehicles kinda like COD3 does. In case you didn't get it COD3 is now my fav online game. I just love the classes even though it wouldn't work with Halo 3 I think but Halo has great vehicles IMO and there should be huge map battles where a lot of vehicles are used.

I think that's one thing that lacked alot for me in Halo 2

i agree it is amazing. everything about it seems so refined and better especially with the new maps (snowbound is now my all time favourate halo map), equipment and weapons plus the new custom game stuff that was found yesterday and the rumoured map editor and game mode.

Carbine. Everyone seems to gravitate to different weapons (which shows the level of balance in the game). Some like carbines, some like dual spikers, some like the needler.

Of course it lacks depth. There are 3 maps!!!!

But dont worry, the final game will have a lot more.

Yeah, I loved how they toned down the auto-aim. I also like some of the general weapon tweaks like the increasing of the time it takes to fire the sniper rifle between shots.

Nah, there are way too many FPSs doing that these days. And 16 players is enough... hell I'd be satisfied with 8 players in some cases because 4 on 4 games in Halo 2 were mostly all I would play.Â
