Depends on the games, for stuff like CoD or BF multiplayer is what matters to most and that´s what they´re made for.
BUt in the end the reason why FPS´s became very popular was because of the online play, that was the reality of most FPS games on the PC and it has been on consoles since Halo.
Campaigns. Multiplayer with friends is fun, but not that many of my friends have taken the plunge yet on the new consoles and random MP is like wandering into a support group meeting for 12 year olds with turret's.
And, sadly, 99% of those 12 year olds can p0wn me, to boot.
Depends on the game. I could play Timesplitters: Future Perfect a thousand times and not bat an eye.
Couldn't give a shit about a Call of Duty singleplayer.
I play FPS only for campaign and co-op. To be honest I don't have the time any longer to be competitive (i.e. Memorize maps, drops etc.). I have so many games that I really just want to finish the game and move on, and MP prohibits that.
So no you're not alone, I buy every Halo, CoD etc. just so I can enjoy the campaign.
Games like Halo I used to care about the campaign but now some stupid company ruined it so it doesn't matter to me anymore to even follow it.
Games like Bioshock, you buy it for the SP.
CoD and BF campaign is like a tutorial for me to get comfortable playing with their mechanics.
most of my best-liked games are singleplayer shooters!
I have a few very-liked multiplayer ones too, but more favourites are singleplayer.
Depends on the game. I loved the campaigns in the Bioshock games, and the Halo titles, too, before 343 put their filthy hands on it.
Really depends. On games like the Halo & Resistance series I did. I have on some of the Cods, but on something as crappy as the Killzone series, no I couldn't stomach my way halfway through those "stories"
I like single player FPS games, but I also really like multiplayer FPS games.
I'm not one to buy an FPS game just because it has some tacked on multiplayer though, and I pretty much don't play any spunkgargleweewee (CoD-esque games)
Good single player FPS games have been pretty rare these last few years though which is a shame given FPS is my favorite genre.
I'm much more into the multitplayer aspect of FPS like COD or Battlefield, but sometimes a campaign can be really enjoyable if it has a lot of WOW moments such as Black Ops 2 or Modern Warefare. I think Bioshock campaigns do it best though because they focus on the story, and Dishonored is also an honorable mention.
No you're not the only one. I never touched multiplayer in FPS unless it's a local game with a friend that's visiting.
I rarely play single player fps. I did manage to finish singularity a few weeks ago and it was fun game for a 5 dollar bargin bin game.
WOW..thats great to see so many that love the campaigns..ive played a hundred at least and just love knowing ive beat them and enjoyed them as the developers wanted. they do spend lots of time, effort and money on making these games..we should embrace that..
