I hate the Wii.

Why?

The Wii has Games like Red Steel 2, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 (1 and 2 if you count Trilogy), A Boy and his Blob, Guilty Gear, Samurai Warriors, King of Fighters, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter Etc....

and almost every Gameube game works on the Wii and you there are hundreds of titles to choose from it's Virtual Console and WiiWare Service.

Movies are no longer a problem for the Wii thanks to Netflix all you need now is a subscription to them and the Wii Disc and you can watch movies on the Wii and an alternative to this is if you have the right video converter and at least an 8-gig SD card you can put movies and watch movies on your SD card through the Photo Channel and also watch home movies with the Photo Channel.

You can Listen to music in the Photo Channel if you have iTunes on your computer and convert the files to ACC format.

You can view Photos and make Slide Shows instantly, You can Browse through the Internet, You can play games online with friends or matchmaking.

The things I know that the Wii doesn't have is Achievements (which people here have established that it's an inconvenience), Gamer Tags/Names, Downloadable Demos (which really Nintendo does have but they are limited and only for the DS.), and HD.

So tell me Why Hate the Wii? Is it because it's not in HD? Is it because of the poor 3rd party support it has? Is it because you just hate Nintendo?

Did you read my OP? I don't hate the Wii. I'm asking people that do hate the Wii why that they hate it.

Dont hate it, though it is fun to jab it on sw. Just isnt for me, which is something I learned too late.

I hate the Wii because this year it put out too many good games that I had to spend money and buy myself a new Wii!

More voice chat support.

Most devs don't push the hardware.

I do agree that I would like voice chat and basically everything else on xbox live.

To anyone saying they hate the Wii in a non-sarcastic manner, it's pretty sad if you hate a piece of plastic. I understand if it's not your cup of tea, but saying you absolutley hate a console is just childish.

Not enough AAA titles is the Wii's problem. That and its marketed as a fitness machine to the masses.

I have a Wii, and its the least played console. Last time i played on the Wii was when SF Vs Tatsunoko came out, which was great, but after that, its back to gathering dust. I honestly not a fan of platformers, its something ive grown out of (supermario, jak, ratchet etc). I did play Red Steel 2 at my friends house and it was fun, but not something i will sit down and finish. Just my 2 cents :)

I've been thinking, and the Wii is an awkward console. While it does have its fair share of blockbusters (mostly first party), it has an extraordinary amount of weird, niche games that might not be mindblowingly epic, but do give you the feeling you're actually playing something with balls. Games like Deadly Creatures, The Conduit, and Madworld, do have problems to one degree or another, but they are all worthwhile additions to my gaming library.

It's true that the Wii has very few really big third party titles, and that even multiplatforms are mostly weak on this console, but whenever I hear that the Wii has a lack of good games, I compare my Wii library to that of my Gamecube and my Xbox, all of which are about equal in size. I must say that my Wii library is the most impressive out of the three, and contains the most games I'd put in my top 10 of most enjoyable games of all time. Most of it is still somewhat experimental, but a package like Metroid Prime Trilogy alone justifies the existence of the Wii.

In the end, I don't regret having the Wii, not even as the only current-gen home console. I do have some worries about where Nintendo will be going in the future, but as it stands, the Wii has brought me nothing but fun, expanding my gaming horizons on all kinds of levels. As such, I don't really care what people here say about. If they only want HD blockbusters that get over a 9.0 on Gamespot, then fine, it's their loss.

i like the wii. but you seem to have forgotten some big negative points. - the online is sht. maybe even worse.. - all cool "multiplats" are 360/PS3, excluding the Wii.. and NO: Tatsunoko vs Capcom is no replacement for BlazBlue or StreetFighterIV. I admit the Wii may have that Golf game too.. but im not into Golf lol I have my Wii solely for Mario, Zelda and Metroid Games. (+ NMH :3) Most other games, have a much better PS3/360 Counterpart. And Virtual Console is really no big advantage, when you look over to PSN/XBL. And I'm ignoring the fact, that the Wii Controller is so unsuited for those games. I know there are those "Classic Controllers", but I cba to buy them. Better safe that money for the next Wii/360/PS3 (current game) title.Shoooryuken

The reason why I ignored the big complaints was because

1. Online is crap but from what I've experienced only Super Smash Bros. Brawl had the Worst Lag out of all of them. Tatsunoko vs Capcom had somewhat of a delay but the game was more playable than Brawl (unless I was playing with Friend Codes then the Lag was nearly gone from Brawl. If you want proof here are some of my online matches from The Conduit, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and Brawl all with virtually no lag.)
2. All the Multiplats the Wii gets are inferior Graphic wise but so far they are alright. Except when it comes to DLC and I have no idea why there's no DLC for the Game.
