Really?... The wii hype train was like the system was going to be the second coming. There were so many Nintendo fanboys on here back around the launch it was crazy. Everyone was excited for the Wii because the concept was so new and the possibilities seemed endless. But it didn't really turn out like everyone thought it was going to and most of the best Wii games make little to no use of the motion features.
Go on youtube and just look at what the e3 06 line was just for people to play the Wii.. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen it was like an 8 hour wait just to play the demos where there were only like 10 people at sony's both. And I think he just said people will probably disagree with him because thats normally how people are on this forum, almost no matter what anyone says a lot of people just like to jump in and say UHHH NO SHUT UP YOUR WRONG......
Anyhow I get what you're saying, no one is really hyped because
A)we really have no idea what the specs are or how big of a jump from this gen it is or isn't.
B)No real idea when it is coming out
C)Most importantly NO GAMES. The selling point of the console isn't going to be the multiplats and for a Nintendo console it never is, I just think they did that to show at least for now they are making stronger relationships with third parties. The hook of the system will be the exclusives but I guess for now none of that was ready to actually show off. And even if the PS4 and 720 come out a year or two later and are big improvements over the WiiU I don't think it will matter much due to resolution. The biggest different between the Wii and 360 and PS3 and why it was pretty much impossible to go back and make multiplats without doing a lot of work (and most importantly why Wii games looked so awful on HDTVs) was the resolution gap. The next gen systems aren't going to go higher than 1080p which the WiiU is, so they will at the very least be level on those merits..
So if Nintendo is able to release this thing, and it will have superior mutliplats of the current gen games for a year or two, and then have inferior ones after that all while having Nintendo exclusives along with them I think that will be just fine. No one seems excited because nothing seems confirmed and nothing seems final. Until we get some actual software, see the next zelda actually running on the system and see if the online component is any better than what we have now then no one will be
Because I mean who knows, maybe the online will be better, and that plus the controller plus better harderware will encourage you to get the multiplats on the WiiU but until we get more info there isn't really anything more we can say.
