I have not seen 1 MGS4 commercial yet. (United States)

This should be advertised everywhere, I must've seen a GTA4 commercial every 20 minutes on Comedy Central.

Is it the opposite for Japan/Europe? or maybe i'm just watching TV at the wrong time of day.

Same here. It's the first one I've seen, they really should have started advertising sooner.

I only saw it once so far , can't remember the channel though ....... but people have been saying they have seen them on a bunch of different channels.

I think they are not hyping it because the people that want it are going to buy it. MGS4 does not seem like it will pick up extra sales the way Halo, Gears, Madden, GH, and Rock Band do.

I only remember the old commercials with the PS3.

I've seen one during the MTV awards. I think Konami and Sony spent so much money making this game that they don't really have much left for adverstising on television.

Besides I don't think MGS4 is casual friendly enough, it's mostly aimed for the hardcore fans. So I think it's just safer to advertise through gaming websites and gaming magazines.

I mean think about it, say a casual pick up MGS4 and never played Metal Gear, they would be like a toddler lost in a corn field maze, plus crying their eyes out with the lenghty cutscenes.

I seen oen yesterday, but it's the only one I've seen so far. Sony really needs to pick it up on the ADs, that's why Halo and Gears sold so well.darkslider99

Sony needs it to be a HUGE success the first week or maybe even the first day. If it fails in sales.......you do realize the probablity of seeing an exclusive from a 3rd party dev in the future is slim to none if it fails right?

I think I only saw MGS4 frequently is in those PS3 commercials that also showed clips from Lair, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and Haze back then, but they don't show that PS3 commercial anymore. Oh well.

Same in Canada, as well -- albeit I'm not much of a TV watcher.

But honestly, this game doesn't need much advertising, does it?

Maybe as a percent, but I still think there is a bigger user base in the US for the PS3 than any other place.
