GTA Sa was horrible. Every sentence it was either F you n%$%er or so other curses. I know it is rated M but it doesn't need to have swearing. Swearing is mad annoying when they use it too much.Suliman-Uchiai agree that san andreas overused swearing, but in a game like GTA you need someone in a firefight to scream "F*** YOU, M****R F*****S
it can add to the atmosphere. it added to bioshock, but you were right about SA, the way it was done there seemed quite lazy
All the swearing did was eminate a bunch of stereotypes from the topic it covered. This "Russian Mobster" approach should not have as an intense swearing problem. (thank god) I really hope this is on par with vice city and GTA 3. (more GTA3 than vice)theonlyGAMESTER
I'm sorry but.. Vice > Every GTA Game.
Anybody play Yakuza? The amount of swearing in that could make a sailor blush.Bio_SparkYes,i have it for the PS2 and i'm currently waiting for Yakuza2 and 3 to come out here in europe...And i have to disagree,Yakuza did not have as many explicit words as SA did,it didn't even come close to it from my point of view.

That is your personal opinion, My personal opinion begs to differ... My opinion is that GTA III had a much better story than Vice and SA. Although the voice acting was not as well implemented as in Vice City. VC is my second favorite GTA. And I honestly thought San Andreas was the step in the wrong direction for Rockstar. There was too much stupid gangster rap bs... which is not the bread and butter of the series... They need to stick to the classic Russian/Italian/Irish type gangster setup.

I agree with you TC. The swearing was atrocious and just plain annoying after a while. I also hated SA for the stupid sterotype they used to depict black peoples... The rapper, the gangster, the pimp, the prostitute, the drug dealer, the thieft, the corrupted police man...Franko_3
the game is a parody in case you did not know

it was based off LA in the Very late 80's through 90's what did you expect? and rockstar was just trying to appeal to a broader audience

look i'm black and i wasn't offended by sa. i actually loved the game and its my favorite. that sterotype crap does not affect me. i don't act like that but i do know people who related to that game. the makers based their game on boys in the hood and some other movie plus its based on the early 90s. if some black people were offended well you have to really look at your race. this is how others see our race. and if they don't like it then change it.
Ha sorry, I didn't know it was based of 90s movies. I am white btw and well if you are ok with that, there is no problem I guess. I got a close friend that is black and he was really annoyed by this, but we both don't live in the us, so we might have a different point of view /shrug

agree im black by the way no one to blame but yourself
Casual gamers (especial the younger ones that shouldn't be playing) love the swearing though, it reminds them constantly they they are not a little boy anymore . I don't mind bad language in a game mind you, I think Gears actually did it just about right with out over doing it but I think the GTA audience will probably want the shock value :(.
I dont really care if GTA4 will have too much swearing , sex ,drugs or violence-blood.
Since youre not a very nice guy afterall i dont mind at all. Thats a one more reason to me to like this game alot. Actually you are a "gangster". How do you think suppossed to be? Like " Hi , my name is X and sorry but i have to kill you" BAM!! " Im sorry but i had orders didnt mean to...Bye"!!?? Swearing is a big part of the gangsta world and i dont see why not swearing. If you dont like it dont buy it !!! :)

I hope it's toned down a bit as well swearing wise. It doesn't add anything to the game. EmperorSupreme
But in this case it did, these guys were early 90 gang bangers that have nothing to live for....believe it or not these type of people talk like that.

Why are you letting other people define what is right and wrong to say? I'll never for the life of me understand why people get so hung up on language. "Curse Words" really have no meaning, and in GTA's case, it does take place in an area where people tend to use certain language. Like it or not, that's reality.

I assume you know lots of Italian mobster talk then, or are you just judging it off of the Godfather.
Why does everything think they know how gangsters speak, you could be a gangster and hardly ever swear, it made sense for the guys in SA to speak, that group of gangstaz do generally swear lots, I saw some on TV once, man it was actually like GTA every other word was swearing. But It'd be nice if Niko swore less, in fact since he was supposedly in the army, he'd probably be pretty disciplines and might not swear as much.

Well atleast they could of toned it down a bit I mean Vice City had the perfect ammount of Swearing because I didn't mind it and I hate Swearing, It still had Swearing but not words like F***, and anything else like that if they used other words besides the F word it would be fine. Please Log In to post.
