I hope PS3 becomes a gamecube

Gamecube was my favorite console last generation, so when people say the PS3 = the gamecube, it makes me smile. The gamecube had very good 1st party support (just like PS3 seems to have). The gamecube one a GOTY almost every single year. The gamecube had my single favorite game from last generation, Tales of Symphonia.

so, to the cows who think its an insult to have their system called a gamecube, its a compliment. Gamecube got REALLY good games last generation.

I enjoyed the Gamecube as well, and to fanboys it appears there are two this gen.

The PS3 and the Wii.

and 2 Gamecubes > 1 :D

Metroid prime 3, I have a wii and am skipping that one.

People who say that the gamecube was a failure are failed gamers themselves. If one played games last gen and did not even TRY the gamecube then they missed out on some of the very best of what last gen had to offer.

Metroid Prime 3 if I'm not mistaken.

If people are saying the PS3 is the gamecube, I feel a smile coming on. The Gamecube was quite awesome. HOWEVER, I would not get the PS3 as of yet as it is too expensive. The 360 has better games and lineup at the moment. And Wii..i'm waiting on Smash Bros Brawl.Ivysmate

Wii is also called a gamecube, so 360 and pc are the only non-gamecubes, pwii3c ftw!

Tales Of Symphonia was my favorite game too. High Five. but i still hated the gamecube. My memory cards would corrupt every 6 months and it had almost no games. So i threw nintendo out of my life completely. But Tales of Symphonia was also on PS2. The PS2 version had extras but it never came out in america. i was hoping it would

Oh ok. Well yeah, I agree, for the most part. However, Raving Rabbids, Madden, and Super Monkey Ball are all great 3rd party games, and shouldn't be overlooked.

If the PS3 get's 3rd place this gen it'll be a much worse system than the GC. The development costs are much higher than the Wii, which mean it'll get even less 3rd party exclusives than the GC and those GOTY's? the GC didn't get them because it was the worse selling system of last gen, it got 'em because it was a Nintendo system..

Metroid Prime 3 is said to look outstanding and plays wonderfully. It's also unclear as to whether or not it will be online (though it's most likely the latter).

I say it should change your mind, not that it will.

We'll just have to wait and see if it meets expectations.

I'd argue that it is radically different. aimed at the mass market,a different interface, backwards compatiblity, retro/indie downloads, online, superior support in the first year, doesnt look like a purple handbag, doesnt focus on cutting edge graphics

lol. The only 3rd party titles I played on GC was RE4, tales, baten kaitos, and the capcom games. PS3 will have more 3rd party support since it will get multiplatform games. And no those games didn't win GOTY because it was on a nintendo system, they one GOTY because they were good games.

TP would've won GOTY this year based on that logic, its just TP was a terrible game.

You said GC had very good 1st party support...That was Nintendo, not low sales.

You said GC won GOTY's almost every Year, 2 of those 3 GOTY's were by Nintendo.

And Zelda TP may not have won the GOTY here , but it's still was the most critically acclaimed game of '06. Saying it's a terrible game only means that your taste sucks.

I believe the connotation of being another "gamecube" is that it would end up being 3rd or something this gen in terms of sales and less third party support or something else that was associated with the GC.

The funny thing is that Eternal Darkness and RE4 are on GC, and they are by far the best adult games I played so far... even today...Redgarl
