heat is such a fantastic film, i dont want to see it get tossed into a generic shooter. i sincerely want them to leave the name be, it doesnt need a half assed game soiling its name.

well, it stars robert deniro and al pacino, and deniros a high profile robber, while pacino is a high ranking detective, deniro and his crew pull off some major heists and pacino is left without a paddle as to who commited them, watch the movie to find out what else happens, saying anything more would be a spoiler.

Well, most movie-to-game conversions are usually lame cash-ins, true. But then, I wouldn't write it off just yet, there have been some good examples of how a game based on an excellent movie can be truely awesome (see: Chronicles of Riddick), and Gearbox seems to have made some AA/AAA shooters before.

2 men on opposite sides of the law face off in a game of cat and mouse. Brilliant performances by all actors. Val Kilmer is awesome in it. Director Michael Mann at the top of his game.

For obvious reasons I wish they leave the license alone. Usually film to game ideas are trash. But, if from out of the blue its a good game I will definately be happy picking it up.

Best film by Michael Mann (Miami Vice, Collateral). One of the best performances by both De Niro and Pacino and the SINGLE GREATEST "cops n robbers" film ever. It's one of the films where you don't want either character to lose because of the fantastic script and character development.

Also, you just know they're going to bastardise the Bank Heist Shootout (based on the LA shootout?) Which is probably one of the greatest scenes in film history.

yeah and i have the impression that some of the lines from the film were from the 1 season of miami vice (one of the last episodes, i know that because i watched season 1 at my uncle's house some months ago, pretty cool serie for the time(it is older than me), and i watched the special edition of heat 2 months ago, and i just felt some kind of deja vu)

I'm looking forward to Dirty Harry a lot more. Clint Eastwood is providing his likeness and voice, as well as some "creative input". There will also be additional parts for Gene Hackman and Laurence Fishburne. Unfortunately though its release date is up in the air as the developer, The Collective, were dropped.

All you need to know is that Robert De Nero and Al Pacino are in the movie. This alone makes any movie worth watching.

A 'Heat' game would truly kick ass if it can be pulled off. Though, I can imagine it would be a bit short. If they pull off the bank robbery scene... *drools*

Can you imagine what it would sound like? With the bank robbery scene, they actually recorded the sounds on-site, from multiple distances it sounds awesome.
