I don't think the controller's trash, it's just a matter of personal preference. I prefer the ps controller rather than the xbox, it just feels better in my hands than the xbox controller.

The only thing I really hated so far would be the R2 and L2. When I was playing the Turok demo and was holding down R2 for the bow as I take aim, my finger would slide off the button do to its convex style.

What i'm getting at is it's trash for shooter games. Becuase of the unsensitive analog sticks. And the R1 R2 buttons are kind of weak.

Well the 360 controller seems like it was designed for shooters, but I just prefer the ps controller even when I'm playing a shooter.

I personally don't have a fond relationship with my 360 controler and FPS, I'm more comfortable with PS3 and find it just as easy to get headshots.

You need to do a quick definition search on what is a fact and what is an opinion.

You not liking a controller is not a fact that it is a terrible controller.

HA I was think of the same thing when I was playing the Turok demo (since oxm decided to monopolize it). The ps3 stick seems longer than the 360 stick plus the triggers are worthless for FPS or racing (just let me reprogram the firing to the R1 button please).

I agree 100%. I thought there was something wrong with the controls in Resistance Fall of Man, it was the 1st shooter I played when I got my PS3. After playing a couple more first person shooters on PS3 I realized it was the controls not the game.

I've said this before. I playd COD 4 on both Consoles (on 360 first). I only onw a PS3, but way before even bothering to THINK about consoles (some months ago) i was doing a reasearch in what should i get (ps3/360). I played at a friend that has a 360, both COD4 and halo, and i was not used at all with gamepads and fps, i thought of gamepads and FPS of being horrible (though it moved better on COD4). But then i heard about FragFx accessory and kb+ms support for the PS3, and got the PS3. It came in the box with Resistance, and i also bought COD4. Immediately i found it much easier (though still a noob on gamepad/console) to aim in COD 4 using the sixaxis.

So that's my opinnion and that's why sixaxis (and now dual shock) works better 4 me

but hey thats just my preference and opinion

The PS3 controller is fine you just have to get used to it like any other controller. The xbox 360 controller also has a learning curve. And for First person shooters it works fine for me:)

It has nothing to do with me being used to it. I have been playing on PS controllers since 96. PS1 PS2 PS3. The controllers are all the same. Accept with added rumble and now they changed the trigger buttons for the worst most would argue. Anyway either way with added rumble and the changed triggers. One thing that has been the same since PS1 is the Analog Sticks they have always been a little to clunky for shooters.

Anyone that can even say that the analog sticks on a PS controller is better then the much smoother feeling sticks on a Xbox controler is clearly a fanboy in denial.

With that said. Yes the PS controller are better for fighting games becuase of the D-Pad.

That only proves this: You're the Fanboy (360), and this whole thread was made as a statement to offend ps3 owners and troll, cos you're not accepting other people's opinions and continue ratteling on by saying that xbox is BEST and who says otherwise is a Fanboy.

Anyone?

I've never prefered the PS controller. The original was still fine but a decade with the same design? It's not perfect, fix it.

So if i can play and destory people on cod4 with this trashy pad, i would completely destory 360 users? i mean i can play the 360 version just the same as the ps3 version no problems, but you are acting like using the 360 pad is gonna make me even better.

While i prefer the 360 controller over the ps3 controller for FPS's, its not impossible to play FPS's on the ps3 with the sixaxis or dual shock 3. I'm pretty used to both controllers but one thing i'll say is that i do prefer the ps3 controller for fighting games. Action or adventure games feel pretty much the same using both controllers. Resistance and UT3 are not hard to play with the sixaxis but it does take some time getting used to considering the bad placement of the joysticks and the annoying triggers they added which don't even feel like triggers.

This is so true, I was playing unchartered yesterday and I actually have to slow down my thumb to noticiable speeds to get a head shot, while playing had or cod4 on the 360 everything ran smoothly.

You're opinion is not fact. I have never used a PS3 controller so i have to agree with you but not everybody will agree with you and you should respect their opinions.

As for the whole "Anyone that can even say that the anolog sticks on a PS controller is better than the much smoother feeling sticks on an xbox controller is clearly a fanboy in denial." Well that was just an incredibly stupid thing to say.

ewww turok that game sucked last gen and it sucks again this gen.... anyhow the PS3 controller actually has higher sensitivity that the 360 controller so i dont know what your talking about....also another thing that puzzles me is ppl bash the joystick placement, that joystick works movement not aiming... on the PS3 and the 360 controller the aiming joystick are in the same spot,,,,and since when did i have a problem moving?... both controllers are just fine unless your a fanboy trying to find something to bash

PS3 controller is the best, maybe you need to turn up the sensitivity.

A human thumb does NOT naturally sit in 360's position, but it is natural for PS3's, thus control is clearly better because moving forward does not need barley any force, but for 360 you already out of natural postion so more force is needed to move.

I don't think it's that much difference because I can adjust to the ergonomic differences pretty quickly when going from my 360 to my PS3, my biggest problems are the horrible triggers that curve the wrong way and how the triggers touch the ground when you try to use it for watching a movie.

Every time you so much as slightly nudge the controller it sets off the chapter search. Also, how do you set the PS3 controller to time out and shut itself off is it in a setup menu someplace?

My other gripe with the PS3 is the perma sealed battery, do they really expect me to ship this thing out to get the battery replaced when the lithium ion battery eventually goes dead? Disposable controllers FTL.

I totally agree with you. I have never beaten R:FoM due to the terrible FPS controls of the PS3 controller. Turok demo played terrible with it with the controller. It's an ok controller, but not very comfortable with FPS games. I always get multiplats on my 360 over PS3.

i've been saying this for years - change the dual shock design and i'd be one happy camper. it's probably the worst console controller i've played with in my life, apart from original nintendo and of course - PS1.

why a company would keep the controller design basically the same (generally) for more than a generation astounds me.

Man i don't know what's all the rant against the ps3 controller. I've already pointed out my oppinion when i said that for mea COD 4 worked far better with the dualshcok/sixaxis than hte 360 controller

I've played AND FINISHED AN PLAY ONLINE:

Resistance Fall of Man on easy and medium (1st FPS EVER on a console)

The Darkness - Easy Medium and Hard (sucks online but cool story and acting)

COD 4 - recruit (i play 2 much online to start a new campaign)

JUST finished Meda of Honor AIRBORNE 5 mins AGO!! and finished it using the SIXAXIS (motion sensing) feature (for leaning and peeking when under cover) and works far better this way than using the analog stick for me (360 has no motion sensing)

Timeshift - 30% progress i guess (easy, this game is hard)

All of them work very good for me, using the sixaxis.

Although i'm still considering getting a FragFx, cos truth been told, control-wise, both 360 controllers and sixaxis/dualshock 3 controllers SUCK BIG TIME

MS+KB (or analog stick + mouse as FRAG FX) are NATIVE for FPS games, far better aiming, and aiming is what FPS is all about!

M/K is better for FPS...if SOny intergrates it fully then it will destroy the 360 in my eyes...

At least the sixaxis has a decent Dpad not the joke thats on the 360 controller...

Well, UT3 on PS3 can be played using KB and MOUSE (any ms and kb, take the one you have on your pc)

But honestly, i like the FRAG FX betterm it looks cooler, and it also has the motion sensing feature likte the sixaxis.

Furthermore, later this year (couple of months) SplitFish (creators of FragFx) are launching a wireless version of FragFx that also has vibration :D that's when i'm gonna get one
