I just got a 360 yesterday and played it alot and i learned..

Well the games are amazing. Halo 3 is really fun online and everone uses a headset. The two games that came with the 360 were great. FOrza is amazing the best racing game I ever played. People on the 360 community actually talk.

Now the problems.,
It is not as sleek as my PS3
It is so loud I thought my 360 broke but it is mad loud compared to my silent PS3

But the 360 is very good. But I think people in system wars did overhype it a little too much.

I like the system. I hope to get a PS3, but the 360 is pretty good. I wish the hardware was better and more open *cough* no $100, 20gig hard drives *cough*, but the software can justify it.

So true, I don't know why other people don't mention this. Yes, my Xbox seems awfully loud sometimes. But when I play games even at a low to moderate level in surround sound I can't hear it at all. Good point.

What's the manufacturing date on that 360? Mine is 12-07-2007. Mine is as quite as can be. Hopefully you didn't get one with the old parts in it.Patriot298

Well I own both. Sold my Wii at christmas to a friend for his kids. I like my 360 better because the controller is much more comfortable for adult hands. Their are more games for it. Yes it's loud which is annoying. But Xbox Live is better than Playstation online. Honestly I like both but With Forza2, Bioshock, Lost Planet, Mass Effect, and Halo 3 I've really enjoyed my 360 since it's release. And I've not had a single issue with it overheating. Of course I put mine in an entertainment center and always play it hortizontally.

Enjoy it having both.

I love my 360 also. PSN is not that bad since it is free. I put it horizontal it runs pretty cool not too hot.

Exactly what I was thinking, and based on his super fanboy posts before, I have to say he only owns a PS3.

The 360 is alot of fun But I find alot of the games on it to get boring real quick and I have that noise problem as well for somereason :?

Get Kameo, Mass effect and Crackdown all of those game are amazing. exclusives

How can you claim people overhyped it when you have yet to play some of it's greatest games. Play Dead Rising, Mass Effect, and Bioshock and then come back to claim whether it's been overhyped or not.

My XBox 360 isn't loud at all. Mine was new as well. It isn't as quiet as the PS3 though, I can agree with you on that. The PS3 is actually bulkier then the XBox 360. Have you ever put them side-by-side and compared them? You could almost put the XBox 360 into the PS3. The PS3 is a HUGE system. You could drop it on someone's head and kill them instantly. It's almost as heavy as my bowling ball.

Yeah I do. I disagree with the sleek. The 360 is plenty sleek. But running loudly indicates poor design and cheap craftsmanship. Do I really care? Umm, yea. If I put down that much money, I expect a well-made product.

Stop using a headset that you lay next to your tv then.
My cellphone's ringtone even takes away the sound of the fan.

Pick up these games or rent them and you'll begin to understand that 360 is clearly the better gaming system this gen

Actually quite the opposite, people who spend a lot on their audio systems do care. Some people might not care, but I do. It's like the rattle in a car. Some people don't care, but it annoys the heck out of me. Some people appreciate quality some don't.

I think you don't understand.
You CANNOT hear the humming unless you have your volume on a VERY low pitch.
If you can still hear your 360 humming over your great sound system, I suggest sending in your 360 for a check.

Every fanboy group SW hypes their consoles too much. There are probably more lemmings around, so I guess the "overhyped' comment makes sense. That being said, the general populace and Sony were hyping the PS3 much more than the 360. Well, at least until its launch.
