The reviews say its exactly the same, so unless you really love the controller and those 360 achievements, your good to go. Great game btw, I really enjoyed the singeplayer, multiplayer is meh could be fun but its laggy(atleast on 360) hopefully they will fix it.
it was sold out when I tried to buy it as well. But I waited since the PS3 version lacks motion blur (without it the framerate looks choppy).
Also, the PS3 version has no AA, and no achievements. So I would return it if I were u
The game really is great, though, and definitely worth a purchase. I actually know of one difference between the two versions. Since the PS3 has Blu-Ray and can fit more on a disc, it has more full movies and full episodes of stuff on the various TVs throughout the game that you can watch. The 360 has a few as well, but not as many as the PS3, and I think in a lower resolution too. Other than that, the games are probably identical.
I know I'm not supposed to have said this since I'm a "lemming", but I couldn't really care less. :/

It has the SAME EXACT ACHIEVEMENTS  .
Anyways, If you check my Gamerscore, I have more than Beat the game, and have about 800 points in the game for 360. I also recently got to check out the pS3 version. SAME HDTV.
The PS3 Version is a tad sharper with slightly better colors, however the 360 has motion blur when you spin and slighty better AA. That's the real deal, Thank GOD I'm a MANTICORE.

I also would like to add that all the differences are INCREDIBLY Minor. Really. The Review was accurate.

thats true, at a normal glance they look exactly the same. you really have to lok closely & enamine them to find any differences. And also, some might think the PS3 version has more content than the 360. it dosent there the same.

Although I did read at a couple sites that due to the Blu-Ray disc, the TV's throughout the game have more channels, which doesn't add to the gameplay, but may add to the immersion factor.
You truly have to examine them though.
Well, i opened it and played it for a few minutes. It seems ok. I do notice a lot of "jaggies " though. Edges on doors and fences seem to have moving sharp jagged edges that are kind of annoying. I dont know if the 360 has that problem or not.I can live with it i guess.Videodogg
Both version's suffer from "Jaggies" although, they are very minor, and the PS3 suffers from them a bit more. It's all very minor. Read my other post to see all the differences (Above).

Troll much? The review said it was practically identical.
I'm sorry, but they're not identical.
no motion blur (most important factor, google it), no achievements, and no AA on the PS3 version.
and I have no idea why on Earth (beside being a fanboy) would you recommend him an inferior version.
let's be honest here. the PS3 version lacks motion blur, a very important technology for smoothing framerates.
A technology that Gears, PGR3, DOA4, Lost Planet, Perfect Dark, Motorstorm, and few other next-gen titles employes really well to present a fluid motion.
This motion blur techniques wasn't available last gen, and it's only available in handful of titles this gen. X360 The Darkness happens to be one of those lucky titles to have it. Why deprive TC from enjoying it is beyond me.
Also, motion blur benefits don't show in still screenshots comparison. In fact, it appears as blurred images if you take a snapshot of a moving object when motion blur effect is engaged.
I've seen a lot of ignorant fanboys posting blurry PGR3 screenshots claiming ownage, not knowing it's an advantage rather than a disadvantage.

Wow, you love a feature that I hate. It's a preference and the PS3 DOES have Achievements, the EXACT SAME ONES! Anyways, I already covered the differences in my earlier post. You don't like the PS3, at all, got it.
No, the PS3 version is not second best. Aside from a minor aliasing differences, they're both exactly the same. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
The "frame-rate problems" do not exist.[QUOTE="Mystery_Writer"]it was sold out when I tried to buy it as well. But I waited since the PS3 version lacks motion blur (without it the framerate looks choppy).

Wrong. He is right in saying it lacks AA (since PS3 can't do AA and HDR simultaneously, they chose HDR). It was also reported that the PS3 version drops a few more frames.
This is from the PS3IGN review:
The PlayStation 3 version is virtually identical to the 360, other than the occasional aliasing issues and sporadic slowdown.
Some nice effect, but the touchy framerate hurts a bit.
Xbox 360 version from the IGN review (in the graphics comment):
Some nice effects and a solid framerate are a plus.

I heard this is the first game that will have trophies. The reviews atm are saying that the versions of the game are very similar, so it doesn't look like you made a mistake or anything.

True, but the Dev's (Starbreeze) put them in both games, the 360 is called Achievements, the PS3 version's are called accomplishments. They are indeed in it, right in the same spot, and they are the same.
Also, the PS3 version has more TV channels, due to the Blu-Ray disc being so much larger in data storage than DVD's the PS2/Xbox/Wii/360 use.
But if you mean, there is no Gamerscore, nope, that is 360 only, but it isn't like it changes the game.
I have been playing for a couple of hours. I have noticed some frame rate issues or slow down in some sequences and a lot of shimmering jaggy lines all over the place. Im still enjoying the game, but yeah, i wish i held out for the 360 version....not a mistake i will make again.Videodogg
Frame rate issues are in both version's kid. I beat the 360 version, and also suffered to GAME FREEZES as well. Look for that in the PS3 version. This is just a Troll topic, isn't it? We all fell for it.
Troll topic? God you cows are so quick to protect your precious ps3. Here is a pic...feel better now?
Videodogg
Well, good, I'm glad I gave good answers then, since it isn't a troll topic. I have all the system's though, so I'm no mere cow. I actually played through the 360 version. Check out my GAMETRAILERS POST, it's most excellent.
PS3 version is just slightly inferior, not much of a difference, read IGN review for the differences. I would choose the 360 version just for the controller though, analog sticks in 360 controller are much better and of course rumble. themyth01
Yeah, the controller (better for fps games)and rumble are the main reasons I chose the X360 version over the PS3 version. I could care less about a few frames dropped here and there as long as its not major (haven't experience any frame drops on the X360 version incase any one wanted to know).
How about this question?
Has your 360 broke down before?
I bought it for my 360 this week after debating the same questions, and guess what?,my 360 gave me the red rings again.I only had it back for a week from the previous repair of the red rings which took four weeks to fix.So now I am getting the ps3 version no matter what.
Also for those who claim that the xbox 360 version is the one,I am not so sure yet.It has jaggies too and slow down in the subway sometimes and during the last mission.
P.S. I hated the blur effect. It was too much.
what the heck guys, do you buy BOTH versions of the game and compare the side-to-side?
someone said they 'felt the shadows were better' on one specific version... what the heck?
enjoy the game guys, enjoy the game.
