I Never get lag:| I've gotten it ONCE my whole time playing it online. And that was because the host was CRAP.

i still dont see whats so great about it... the only reason i want online on my console is to play games online with other people... playstation lets me do that perfectly fine for free... while xbox makes me pay $50 a year.....its not that much..but still... its really not that wonderful....all of the features it has is nice...but id get rid of them if i could play for free, i hardly use them anyway...

I imagine if I was playing on your host I would notice... but is this something MS can control? I dont think so... I will give them credit in that I do play a TON of games with people across the pond and while there can be some problems its never been enouph to not have half my friends list filled up with brits... I also run into the french a lot but as soon as I speak I am usually booted from the room...... damn french.

Host basically gives you zero ping (ping is delay) since all the info for the game is comming from your box, and going directly to the XBL servers to send to everybody else.
XBL is one of those services you have to experience to understand it's value. For the longest time I was like "BS I have to pay for the same service I get from PC games for free", but then I got a 3 month free trial with halo 2 and relized the service is really top notch.
XBL Silver, while free and offing 90% of the features of Live, is just not enough when games like Gears, Burnout, GRAW, Crackdown, and soon Unreal Tourney 3 (Think of all the Muti-kills!) must be played multiplayer with friends.
Of course its better. And who ever says paying a fee of 50 dollars a year (hardly a dollar a day) is to expensive, is indeed a dimwit.iammason
if you make this assumption, you are a dimwit. I dont want to pay for live when all i want to do is play games online. PS3 does that better anyway. It may have less features, but its free. Xbox should have a free version of live that lets you play games online. I paid for xbox live for 3 years. That was three games i did not buy.
