It was great, I was longing for the JRPG feel on the PS3 (Even though I died at the boss :P)
I'm serioulsy wondering why (I heard here) the sales on the 360 version didn't go so well. This is a good game, you guys should get it!

dont hype this game too much people
the game is fun, but lacks depth in gameplay. It's way too easy. looks great though
I hope they changed quite a bit in the Ps3 vers.

Making the game harder would change quite a bit. The game I played required little to no strategy at all. also the pig boss in the demo is harder than the boss in the full game. just a little something I noticed:PBut the game would be a nice addition for PS3 only owners I guess considering the lack of RPG's in the PS library

well who wouldnt if you got NUKED TWICE.
well, did you notice that games in the ps2, when they are western, usually the confirm button is X but for japanese made games, the confirm button is O.

same for xbox:P (last gen)japanese games = X confirm
Western games = A confirm

That's what happened to me too. The Pig pwned me in the demo, but I beat it in one go in the full game. I think it's because the characters we're stronger in the full game at the time I got to the pig.
also I believe you have 3 characters in the demo. Only two (Chopin & Polka) in the full game at that boss
Played it, and to this day I don't get what the appeal is with JRPGs. I just don't get it, taking turns to hit one another...the art design, the way the story is told....
I just don't get it.

Well at least you tried it. That's probasbly better than 90% of the people who bash JRPGs for being turn-based (not saying you're bashing; far from it). Just a different style amid a sea of genres. I happen to love JRPGs and I'm not quite sure exactly why. In good ones, there's quite a bit of strategy involved in the turns, and I think the primary appeal for me would be the story (and simultaneously explain why I have somewhat of an indifference to shooters/racers/sports sims).
Anyhow, you tried it, didn't like it, but a big part of the appeal to JRPGs to answer your somewhat-posed question is that (not to speak for all JRPG fans) it reigns top dog in storytelling, and the genre is just known for that. I know a few WRPGs have good stories, and games like MGS4 try to make storytelling a main thing, but JRPGs are one of the few genres where a good story is an absolute necessity to really enjoy the game.

oh yeah? that's funny, last i remember we're getting more JRPGs from japan than the ps3. including ....... *drum roll* OMG NO WAI FINAL FANTASY?!
I played it too yesterday. It was really fun :DVanHelsingBoA64
I played it like a year ago for the 360.
You are judging the game by a demo, its a good game especially if you are jrpg starved but it is quite short, needs to be played twice and has a very unusual story and approach. This is good to begin with and at least it is different but it does let the over all package down a little. Im still really happy with it though because I got it new for less than £10 at asda.
[QUOTE="JIT93"]So I should get it this month :D[QUOTE="locopatho"]Aw I liked Eternal Sonata. Not the best ever, but solid and fun.locopatho
Or LBP I dunno :?
Well it's a great game. But I'd prob get LBP...
What's troubling is that they are on the same date of release :(What's troubling is that they are on the same date of release :(JIT93
I'd get LBP now and Eternal Sonata after a pricedrop.
[QUOTE="Gamer4Iife"]So, is it coming to North America ? Last I checked, the PS3 version was for Japan only.JIT93Then why would it it say in the end of the demo: Coming in October 2008? :|
Chillax, bro. I haven't played said demo.

I was just informing you :P I dont bite :evil:The game was crap when I played the demo on the 360, and it was just as crap when I played it on the PS3.
IMO, of course.

Im sorry both of you but you were very much owned by Hitman
I played this game on the Xbox 360 a while ago with my friend who had the game. To me, it was REALLY fun and a good RPG. Yes, I agree the story might be a little lacking (based on what I played with my friend so far), but it's still a really good game for all the "true" JRPG fans out there, kinda feels like a Grandia on steroids! I thought the graphics were really nicely done, very colorful. I like well done cel shaded/3D graphics. Remember when Zelda: Windwaker was coming out for the game cube? Everyone was trippin that wasn't 3D and the graphics are gonna be crap, etc. etc. Personally I thought Windwaker had one of the most interesting graphics of it's time, and here we are looking at games that are more polished based on that original Cel shaded style graphics (Tales of Vesperia looks amazing too).
Anyways, a must buy I think for any PS3 owners who are hardcore JRPG fans, because I don't see a nice classic JRPG style game like this coming to the PS3 anytime soon =( Ultimately the JRPG genre is dying in this era of gaming at least on consoles, most JRPGs nowadays are being released on handhelds, and I'm not so sure why.

Yeah me niether I DL'ed it and tried it and man it did nothing for me. The turn-based system really made me confused and I got most my team killed on a freakin onion enemy because it was so hard to know wtf to do. Not to mention the characters are really lame charactures (sp).
Oh well maybe there is a jrpg that i can one day actually like...
I really like the demo it was fun and i die a few times on the game so i dont see it that easy, i like the Light/Dark effect but what it keeps me worried is the lack of "magic" in the battles, i mean you can only have 2 per character in the battle?
I really like ToS on the GC and i'm really waiting for this game, i mean it got great reviews, it seems fun, great graphics, etc, i guess its going to be a release day buy for me.
It's a good game but it's way too easy.
I'd suggest importing if you're into that, over buying an OK 60 dollar JRPG.
It's Mediocre, sadly this gen mediocre is the new good when it comes to JRPGS.
I've heard good things about ToV so hopefully it's much better.
