So I just played Mario Galaxy, didn't want to, but some guy who has a Wii told me it was good so I thought I'd check it out. Man, what a mitake, its one of the worst games I've ever played. All the good scores are obviously just to give sheep a break from all their ownage.
The graphics are terrible. I've seen better on PS1. I know a lot of people will shout at me about 'artsttyle' , but artstyyle could be done on any console. This game just proves that the Wii is just a souped up N64, because the games all look about 10 years old. If you want real graphics, go play Ratchet & Clank. Lets leave the terrible graphics where they belong, in the trash.
The story is awfull. Basically, Bowser kidnaps Mario and he has to get out of space. I've read better stories in a childrens pop-up book. Theres just no incentive to carry on.
Also, the game is stupidly easy. I completed it in 3 hours, then threw it in the trash. Real games like GTA San Andreas take hundreds of hours to complete, and keep you coming back for more.
One of the things the game boasts about is the gravity. Well for one thing, this just makes the game confusing. I spent far too much time upside down, not knowing what to do. This doesn't increase the difficulty, it just makes it annoying. And hundreds of games have done zero gravity before, its nothing new. For a console that is supposed to be 'innovative', its a disapointment that its games have to copy off everything thats been done before.
The Wii remote, yet again, is just a gimmick in this game. You can shake it around to make Mario attack, but my arms got tired, and I wished I was using a SIXAXIS, so I could just press a button to make him attack. Also, all the other controls are really bad, because the Wiimote is such a bad controller.
Don't waste your money on this game. Its just another piece of garbage in a dying series. You want real platforming with great graphics, get a PS3 and play R&C. You want a boring game that could be played 10 years ago, buy this game.
