POST1
I know this isClasic (they won't let me spell it correctly)story, but I bought a Xbox 360 premium pack yesterday (Saturday, July 7, 2007) and when it started up the 'rings of death' smiled at me,
I was so mad, I called the Xbox 360 support number to swear at them, stupid robot voice thing wouldn't transfer me to the call centers they have in India.
I just returned it back and bought a PS3, I know it don't have any games right now that I am interested in, but its better then having a paper weight that has a red smile. I know that it comes with a three year warranty, but what will I do if it breaks after that? So I hope this story will help you make an educated choice on which console to buy, I understand that the PS3 is financially out of reach for many, but it may save you in the long run.
Just so you know I can price match the price of the PS3 if it changes in the next 90 days

Many would flame me for this action and call it untrue

If a product worth over 500 dollers, ( i price matched it for 399, some small store was selling it for that much,) is broken out of the box, what message does the product tell me?? i bought a controller too with it, i returned it back also
POST 3
When I buy a product, I expect it to work out of the box; I understand many would wait weeks to get the thing fixed, after you bought it brand new,
I first wished to purchase a Xbox 360, as i said before, I enjoyed playing Xbox 360 games at public booths, i did research on the two consoles, like many consumers, i wished to go for the best priced thing i could get, I found a store selling it cheap, i took the flier and price matched the product at a respectable retailer, and purchesed the product. I found the product defective out of box, i do not wish to send my money down the drain, i decided to get something pricer, but more reliable. Product life and reliabity are my most major concerns when purchessing electronic devices

Rainbow six was not available at the location of my purches, right now i just play vice city and San Andreason it, the load times in both the games has improved, though visually the are the same, I will wait for a little while to price match the system when it gets cheaper, and use those funds to buy Godfather or some other games, many here have suggested

Well you right,,this is a forum which means public opinion,,but like i said before, what if the xbox keeps breaking down and he has to fix it again,,and then the same thing over and over! plus playing ps2 games on ps3 isnt bad,,at least its passing time for the cool games yet to com!
That was a concern for me, a company that couldn't even make a working product, how will their customer service be??
I have experienced waiting on hold to costumer service reps, I have waited for hours before for many companies, even if i bought extended warranty, i would have to wait for hours, This would be an unnecessary hassle for me
Continuation:
Many here have some sort of corporate locality, I admit I do purchase things based on their brands, I even avoid some brands( no-name, etc) But when it comes to electronics, I try to purchase the one that is the best priced, as I did with the Xbox 360. But it failed to operate out of the box, therefore I returned it.
I understand I was just one bad apple, and this does not happen often with xbox 360's. I will continue to purchase Microsoft products like vista etc.
