When you look back on the year that the XBox One has had, you can't help but feel a little bit sorry for the small army of people coding and making art assets for a game that is for all intents and purposes, doomed not to chart when it comes out.
So many third parties have had to put their games on other systems to try to pull a profit and in the case of Crytek, it seemed that betting on this horse damn there bankrupted them. That can't help but be on your mind while you are pushing 50+ hour work weeks to try to meet a deadline with a game that is now pretty much the last big third party game coming to this troubled system.
It makes me think back to 2006 and 2007 when publishers like Capcom were promising that Devil May Cry will be a PS3 exclusive or when Square Enix boldly posted those videos from Tokyo Game Show proudly touting that FFXIII would be PS3 only. You have to wonder, if at the end of the day, these publishers and developers really will be loyal to a console in the end.
At any rate, I wish Remedy well and best of luck with Quantum Break. They will probably need it. I do look forward to seeing how the game does on PC, though. Just like Sunset Overdrive.
