had a moment where you thought "I should of listened".
I was like that when I played mercs 2.

oh and they saved me from buying that crap called too human.PS3Breeder
Mmm, I like Too Human. :) *goes and looks at Baldur shrine of lust*
A while back I used to never buy games that were under a 7 or even play them. Now I don't but I take into consideration what games I should or shouldn't buy.
For me games are too expensive these days to just go all willy nilly and buy up every game. In hindsight Mercs 2 was not the best buy it was fun but I'd give it only a 7. But every other game I get is actually a 7 or higher.
there has been more times where I wonder if I would have enjoined a game more if I had not read the review.

I think that's a definite possibility (not for you specifically but in general).
I wonder, had Jeff Gerstmann never mentioned the synthesized music or the no voice acting, would people have taken so harshly to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess? Sure it got an 8.8 which is far from bad by any stretch of the imagination, but people seemed to have just hated it and I wonder if the review had any reason for it.
That's just one example and I'm probably wrong in thinking this.
Mercs 2 - I don't think it's quite as bad as Gamespot said, but it's still pretty bad.

Meh mercs was playabul but honesly had nothing going for it. Also why did Mattias get so much attention.
Never happened, but their reviews have subconciously effected how I view a game when I play it. When I played FE:Radiant Dawn, I absolutely loved it since it was exactly like Path of Radiance (with the exception of butchering support scenes), but then I read the review which pointed out all these flaws and when I started playing again, I couldn't help but notice them now that GS pointed them out. I still enjoyed the game, but those little flaws GS talked about kept coming up in my head over and over again.

ALot of us were also mad(me mostly) becauseOh I know of those problems, like I said in thinking that Jeff's review made a difference I was probably wrong.
Aside from the point, it was extremely easy. Accidentally went into the Trials dungeon (forgot the name) and didn't realize I didn't have a single fairy but I made it through which was a little lame. But I thought it differentiated itself enough from OoT, in parts it had the Zelda soul and, to me, it lived up to the hype aside from story.
If there is anything that Nintendo could do to move the series forward, its offer an amazing narrative. The material is there and they can go mature with it if they need to, but its like Nintendo just doesn't want to pay for the writers. Its very much a load of BS too. An epic tale with terrific storytelling is what the series needs. That's what I think anyways.
Actually the opposite, the only game I bought because of gamespots score was wario ware smooth moves for wii and to this day I whole heartedly HATE THAT DECISION.RoushrshHAHAHA that was a big blunder that i made too.
