Who cares if new players are playing as ken? Not everyone was born good at street fighter. Ken/Ryu are usually the easiest characters to play as for new players -- the genre NEEDS new players anyway.HaziqonfireI care all these newbies fit the perfect stereotype of an "XBL user" screaming over the mic when you win and spam the same two moves. We don't need new players when they all pick one character and spam the same moves. We need variety and skilled playerd that actually try to improve and use strategy

Everyone uses Ken during SF4 online...
Actually, a lot of guys I played online against used Zangief or Sagat. But it was like that when I'd play HD Remix online.
Its all about chun li and sagat for me man but yeah Ken has been dominating online. I dont see it as a problem though, new players are drawn to him and hes a good character, easy to beat for me :P
Ive been looking at some videos and Gouken looks amazing, i think im gonna make him my character when i unlock him. Im having trouble unlocking him and Akuma. I heard you have to get 2 perfects and 3 ultras. When i do this i face Gouken after Seth and it does not unlock akuma or gouken. Can someone with the game help me out here. thanks!
It's time for another rendition of..."Verge's internet rebuttal breakdown!" While the majority of the player's chances of winning rest on his/her skill, the weapon/character they are using is also a significant contributing factor of the outcome. Case in point, the M-16 in CoD4, a weapon widely regarded as one of the most unbalanced weapons in gaming history, that gives new and veteran players alike a rather unfair advantage over everyone else. You know what's worse than people who use Ken? People who complain about other people using Ken.
If you can't defeat your opponent, it's on you.

So?
If you're an experienced Street Fighter player, you know how to take down your opponent.
Same thing goes for turtling, same things goes for TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER KNEE.
Do you have all of the other characters unlocked yet? You have to use someone you've already beat the game with, I believe. Its all about chun li and sagat for me man but yeah Ken has been dominating online. And, yes, Gouken is the man. He's is my fav. character next to Akuma, and Sagat.
EDIT: Also, 2 Perfects + 2 Ultra Combo Finishers = Akuma.
2 Perfects + 3 Ultra Combo Finishers = Gouken.

Ah, thanks you for bringing up this other particular counter-rebuttal. The whole "if you're an experienced *insert game here* player, then you can take down the guy using *insert character/weapon here*" argument is also flawed, because it negates the fact that experienced players using the more powerful/advantageous character/weapon is going to know how/when to kill you with his character/weapon before you are able to deploy your shot/maneuver.[QUOTE="MortalDecay"][QUOTE="UGCoat"] I care all these newbies fit the perfect stereotype of an "XBL user" screaming over the mic when you win and spam the same two moves. lol That sucks. I was always a Guile (think that's his name) user.[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]Who cares if new players are playing as ken? Not everyone was born good at street fighter. [QUOTE="inertk"]For the life of me, I just can't beat a Guile. Since I was a child playing Street Fighter on the SNES, Guile has kicked me up and down silly. Luckily I've only come across him online once in about 30 games.UGCoatAre you jumping right into his flash kick? Yeah but the thing is, I swore I had the timing down. I just can't beat someone who turtles I suppose, some guy doing it with Bison today filthed me up. ;(

I miss the days where I would routinely hear angry accusation of being cheap in the arcade, and it was almost ALWAYS coming from the SFII machine.

Skilled and experienced players are great, cause you enjoy the game more obviously, but a newbie is always good to beat up:D

Sure, the genre does need new players... but do all of them really need to play as Ken or Ryu? How hard is it to play as Guile or Bison?

I see your Tiger and raise you a Head Stomp followed by a Double Knee Kick or Psycho Crusher. Have some of my Psycho POWER!!!! Mwahahahaha!!!
Seriously, Bison owns.
That's the PS3 version right? Because from what I experience there's more of a variety over XBL, maybe because there's more people. But yeah, I guess Ken is very popular.one_on_onelol no Its a problem on both PSN and XBL. Thats like saying there are no noobs on XBL lol Also I have both versions but 360 version isn't exactly mine. I just have access to it whenever
