That is insane to me that a controller influences the purchase. I can understand Live, or Blu Ray influencing a sale... but not the controller, lol.
Oh well, it's his money and his decision! lol. I just dont see much difference in the controllers myself.

To me the controller is one of the most important aspects of a console. I want a controller that is comfortable and that I can hold for hours without needing to put it down because my hands are uncomfortable.

I agree. If you choose a console because of storage media size, THATS rediculous, because it has no effect on gameplay or graphics. but a controlle ris in your hands for hours at a time, and if one gives you cramps, then you don't wan tthat, if the other is more ocmfortable, then you DO want that. That's kind've a dumb reason imho. I can switch easily between the PS3 and X360 controller. Both are really good.EmperorSupreme
Good for you, heres a cookie. I think its one of the most important reasons to buy a system. Especially this gen when the graphics are the same. I like the 360 controller more, better analog placement, better trigger buttons, I can actually feel it in my hands. DS3 is crap imo

Ummm....The controller is 100% more important than anything you listed. If you dont feel comfortable with the controller, you will never like playing your games.

Interesting you didn't mention the D-pad on the X360 controller.
*thinks* Sweet, perfect time to use my C4, but I have to be quick

Neither is perfect, but both are the best controllers ever on a console. Anyone saying one is clearly superior to the other or saying one is crap is just full of it. The controllers are practically the same in functionality.

I could care less about the D-Pad I rarely have to use it compared to how much I used the analog and trigger controls. Have fun with your superior D-Pad while I'm having fun with my superior trigger buttons and analog controls

I love the 360 controller, but I don't think you can dismiss it's craptastic d-pad so easily. The number of times that it's screwed me up is beyond counting. I mean, in Oblivion alone... well, suffice to say it was an extremely dark time in my life.

I agree, altho we dont have to use the dpad as much, when we do its a piece of crap. There is no excuse on just how crappy the dpad really is. It is almost non functional, it sucks that bad. It seems to work fine for weapon switching in geows but thats it.

It really doesn't bother me at all. It rarely causes me frustration, I wasn't dismissing the D-Pad at first. I just didn't think about it because I dont use it, it worked fine for me in oblivion, I mean I made it to level 57 as a Battle Mage with all my spells set in the hot keys, had no problem with it.
the ps3 controller needs adjustable weights in it or something because every time i hold that thing i just laugh. it's so light!paullywog
Thats why I bought a ds3, it is better in every way than the sixaxis. Sucks It didnt come with my ps3, Its good, but pissis me off that I had to spend another $60.00 on something it should have came with in the first place.
Yea really. Screw the controller, I am interested in what exclusives each system has. That's what helped me decide which one to get. With most of the 360 games either on the PS3 or PC also, it wasn't a hard choice for me. PS3 all the way. Hard to pick the 360 for me when it has hardly any games for me.That is insane to me that a controller influences the purchase. The 360 d-pad works fine for 4-way quick options. It's for games that need use of diagonals it has issues.

Same here, that's why I never bought a N64 nor a Gamecube because of that reason. I just borrow my friend's Gamecube when I want to play it.
Even if the 360 and PS3 are going stale and slowly collapsing back under nintendo, the shape of the controllers completely over-shine that?Rhys555
Fixed.
I prefer DS3 for TPS, Beat-Em Ups.
I prefer the 360 controller for FPS, Driving games.
This is usually how I decide on which multi-plat to buy.
After 3 weeks of owning a 360, I made a mistake and I am now selling. I realized 2 multiplats a year that look slightly better are not worth 350$.kool-aidsNot to mention all the exclusives the 360 has coming out this year, but just because the 2 multiplats a year that look slightly better? NG2 is great, fable 2, should be also. gears 2 is looking awsome, not to mention some of the rpg's, and Forza 2 coming soon, and bioshock 2, and dead rising2 etc. Your right i would sell the 360 for half the price also. Stay with MGS4 the movie and resistance2. LBP, is laughable IMO. very niche game IMO. I have a PS3 and will stay far away from that one, LOL.
Some games are better with the DS3, others with the 360 controller.NeontopeYeah they are both basically the same except for the analog positions. I can play on both with out any problems or even transitioning problems, but i am still better with playstation controllers, always have been.
PS3 controller is soooo PS1. Keep up with the times sony!
the 360 controller is amazing...aside from the d pad but hardly any games require it.
yeah the triggers seem like such a small thing but man do I love those things. what is this was MS's last console? I hope a 3rd party would continue with the great design.PS3 controller is soooo PS1. Keep up with the times sony!

Comfort should always weigh in on your decision making.
