I live in fear of 3 red lights = PS3

Im already on my third 360 console, the one I have seems to be fine but I am so worried that its going to break down im thinking of just selling it on ebay and using the money to buy a ps3.

The thing is I really want to play Halo 3 and Mass Effect which are only being released for the 360..

Can you please help me decide what to do. (and btw I already here an odd cluncking noice when i go to the dashboard after playing Gears but that could be nothing)

Go for the PS3, it is starting to outsell the 360 and doesn't have that 3 rings of doom issue. A lot of games for the 360 are for the PS3 also..Just not the ones you want.Unholy_Smite

Hahaha not even close. Anyway to answer your question, just don't worry about it. Microsoft has given you three years. If it breaks just send it to them and your problem is solved. I understand waiting can suck but just play it a lot now, and if it breaks before those big games hit then you're saved.

The last NPD numbers showed the PS3 selling around 98k last month, and the 360 was around 120k. That's hardly selling better.

The Xbox 360 has consistanly sold more than the PlayStation 3 in every month this year.

I don't know why you would sell your 360, you have the 3 year warranty so you have a miniumum of 14 months of use without fear of paying for any repairs. Worst comes to worst your 360 breaks, you send it in to MS, and you take up a hobby or something for the couple of weeks you don't have your 360. If you sell it you might get a couple hundred bucks for it, but its highly unlikely you'll get a good deal for it.PBSnipes

Free repairs ONLY if you get the 3RROD. If you have something along the lines of disc-drive failure like the PS2 did, then tough **** and you have to cough up somewhere in the ballpark of $70-100

see first if you have the new heatsink without voiding your warrenty (here is how)

if you don't, then sell it, and buy another new one but check the serial number on the outside box before picking it up. The last 5 digits should read (724xx) or higher

Halo 3 and Mass Effect will both be on the PC.

Halo 2 isnt even out on PC yet, what makes you think Halo 3 will anytime soon? Could take years. Mass Effect also hasnt even been announced for PC yet either.
