I love my numerous spin offs of Mario.

The Yearly Ratchet and Clanks are one of the highlights of my year.

Zelda is awesome, if you think it is milked or not.

Metal Gear Solid is a fun series, the more the merrier.

Halo has gotten almost all AAAs, The fact it is milked does not matter.

And for those few who think Metroid is milked, yes I have enjoyed the one game it has released this gen. And I plan on enjoying Other M.

Pokemon keeps me coming back, No Matter how much i think I am tired of it

So what I am saying is, why is Milking such a bad thing. I honestly think people just use it as a petty excuse to try and make a series look bad.

So what is your Opinion on Milking?

If Halo 3: ODSTis milkage, milk apparently holds an extremely good value. I played the campaign for 8 hours one time through, and I'm about half way through it again on legendary and I've been playing firefight a damn good amount. I just finished one match that lasted me 90 minutes. And dang, this milk definately contributed to the story of halo and was very different from normal milk.

Ratchet had a major Retail game back in 2007 for PS3.

Ratchet is geting a new RETAIL game in 2009. Seems two years is fine to me. ALmost all games do that, like GeoW1 to GeoW2, Assassin's Creed to AC2 to Halo 3 to HALO 3 ODST.

There is no excuse for Mario Party back in the day though.

I would say out of that list only R&C and Pokemon are milked. I still like R&C, but if they plan to move the series forward they need to try to innovate a bit more, and hopefully they will with the next title, but somehow I doubt it. Pokemon is milked because they make too many versions. Seriously, I want all the content in my game, I don't expect to have to constantly buy remakes and super special versions to keep up to date. I only own Red though so it's a bit irrelevant . Honestly though it only becomes a problem if a series starts to feel saturated. I just ignore people who say Halo is milked, there was a 3 year gap between all the main games in the series. 2 years with ODST, andHalo Wars was another take on the universe by another developer.

EDIT: Well except for those wierd Mario games like Mario Golf, but ignoring them Mario is a good series.

Actually, COWS were named LAST GEN, because the PS2 was the ACCESSORY Machine. Memory Cards? Lulz. Multitap? Lol. It went on and on, Sony's accessory list.

NOW, the PS3 is the exact opposite, but the 360 has HDD's, Memory Cards, WiFi, Xbox Live, Play and Charge Kits, etc.

Cows is a very outdated term to be applied to the PS3 guys, For PS2 It was fine.

Sig worthy indeed.

Pfff, you can apply it to anything. You can call any fanboy a cow, and any fanboy a sheep, but not a lemming because that shows a clear misunderstanding of the animal. All fanboys get milked for money and all fanboys get herded into doing things. They're just a bunch of stupid names, none of it really means anything important.

Do you know how confusing Pokemon games are to buy? There's like leaf, diamond, pearl, fire red, yellow, yellowbannana skin, etc. It's really hard to follow, and it sucks how you don't get eveything in the one version.

halo is usually 3 years. ODST is under unique circumstances due to the Peter Jackson project falling through. ODST is a result of that project disbanning (so yes, you could say that thing falling apart led to district 9 and odst- both fanastic products)

Well there was Quest for Booty aswell, which had some killer levels. Though yeah that's true, it has been two years. It used to be 1 year, so this could be the best yet. Now I'm all excited again.

Yes, because games have their release date printed on them in clear sight of the buyer? No, no they don't, they are usually in small print at theback of the box at the very botto,so the next time you try to take a sarcastic tone with someone check your grounds. The average person goes into a store and sees three diffrent versions of Pokemon, all for the DS. All titles cost the same amount, how do they know which one is the latest? Having so many titles and making it difficult to distinguish between themis not a good thing, not by a long shot.

There is going to at least a 2 to 3 year gap between each main Mario Party game. So even that is a poor example. How long do people expect you to keep playing the same mini games.

As opposed to what? Natal? Motion Plus? Clas.sic Controller? Nunchuck? I mean, I look at my Wii in the livingroom there, and I see $100 spent on just one player.

$40 Wiimote

$20 Nunchuck

$20 Classic Controller

$20 Motion Plus

ON 360 in my livingroom, we got a Quick Charge Kit, A Play and Charge Kit (multiple), a Webcam, etc.

No matter what, if anything, Sony's playing catch up to the competition, and/or the PS2.

I don't know, we can spin this however, but the PS3 is still very unlike the PS2 as far as accessories go....and sales. It's really different compared to the PS2, and the Cow moniker doesn't work like it did.

On topic, I really don't know either, Milking isn't all bad. I like New IP's like Boomblox as much as clas.sics like Tetris. :)

You mean for the DS? So you have 3 diffrent versions, one is clearly superior as is allways the case, and they cost the same price. Now in what way is having Wi-Fi going to correct the issue of buying an inferior product for the same price as a better one?

Or is that some strange way of saying "the internet"? In which case that's still not very useful to the average consumer when he is standing in a store trying to pick a title for his son's christmas present at the last possible chance. Face it, Pokemon titles are annoying when you don't know the release dates, and the average consumer does not. It's a crap set up.

No, there's fair share, and then there's overdoing it. The PS2 overdid it, and the Cow name was born. That's all.

The PS3 is unlike the PS2 in that dept, and in fact, hasn't caught up to it's fair share if going by the competition. That's what a share is, right?

Sony needs to play serious catch up if they want a fair share of the accessory market. :)

I think they will because at E3 it seems that you needed to buy two of those wands for some games rather than just the one. I forget when he was doing the bow he was using both wands right?

I believe the latest version, Platinum was it? It is said to have advanced features over the original two games that came before it. It's not uncommon to see that being sold at the same price as whatever the other twowere, Pearl and Diamond was it? Yellow was the same with Red and Blue, and inbetween that I have no idea. These things are really annoying. It was worse on the GBA, but it's not much better on the DS. Basically 3 games could have been one. That's milkage.

Possibly, they need to show us if they are giving two per pack or what...this may be they way Sony gives the cows the rights to the name, cows. Who knows.

TBH, I'm not to big into PSwand or Natal, as they haven't shown me any killer games I want. I got my Wii though, still cranking away. :)

Yes, you sure can, but when it comes to making fun of an animal, Grazing the fields, Milking, Mad Cow disease, Cow meat Grills, etc only seems to go one direction.

Funny thing, Lemmings is a Sony property.

Sony does not own all the Lemmings in the world. I could see an awesome evil plot comming out of that, but sadly it's just not true. :(

You ever play LEMMINGS, the video game? :)

Yah, but there's a difference between milking a game for all it's worth, and just being a bad-ass developer and constantly releasing AAA games imo.

That's milkage.

literally the biggest change in Plat was purely aesthetic.

Yeah, I was terrible at it. Everytime I played the game there was a Lemming genocide in the FIRST level . Though I did know what you were talking about, I was just pointing out real Lemmings came first, as opposed to naming an animal after a video game character/species :P.

An improvement is still an improvement. I would feel gyped if I paid the money and got an inferior version when I could have got the best for the same price.

Return polcies don't work in the UK anymore. They used to, but they stopped that a while back. If you don't open the game then you might be able to return it, but that presumes you notice within the first three days. And if I were the "average pleb" and I found out I got a weaker version when I could have got the best one, I would be annoyed. I mean literally, this translates to the majority of people who buy pokemon.

not especially. again, the average pleb doesn't give a damn (I sure as hell don't). if I could choose between Diamond, Pearl and Plat I'd do Diamond again because I like the legendary more. that's about it.

The legendary? I don't even know what that is, how is that going to help?
