I made a PS3 fanboys jaw hit the floor.....

So i moved to australia a few months ago. I have been waiting for my gming PC for a while. Bought a PS3 and a 40" 1080p HDTV to keep me busy until it arrived.

Since i have lived here i have met alot of people, most have owned consoles. One guy, a true PS3 fanboy has always insisted PS3 is the best graphical experience you could have. I disagreed ofc, having bought a PS3 i really didn't think it was too great in the gfx department.

Lastnight i hosted a little party, this guy came along. My PC had arrived and he asked me to show him just what all the fuss was about.

I loaded up Gears of War, running on the 40" TV at 1920x1080 fully maxed out @ 60fps. He was blown away. I just laughed, told him that was nothing. I Then loaded up Crysis. Again running at 1920x1080 all at high (windows xp). He couldn't even argue anymore. He openly admited PS3 was no where near this level, ofc i knew this already as i own one.

He told this PC must have cost me a fortune, i told him the truth. When i bought it, it was 150 pounds more than the top PS3 model at the time.

Why am i posting this?

Well, i still believe those cows who think PS3 can match a PC have never ever seen a PC running games at max settings. This is system wars after all.

I didn't build mine. I wouldn't know how. Bought it pre built. Was in the UK, consoles are very expensive when new there. Think PS3 was 599 ponds at some places when 1st launched.

Thats kinda my point. Im never gonna say PC gaming is better, ofc for me it is but people like different things so i can totally understand people liking console more. What gets me mad are people who have never seen PC games claiming consoles match them graphically, its just silly. I have seen my pc running on the same tv as my PS3. My pc runs all games at 1920x1080 and look stunning compared to my PS3.

IF you're willing to put in the effort to buy a great system you might as well make the effort to buy a great PC

Apart from it's flexibility it's basically a 360 deluxe. Plays the best 360 games plus a bunch of its own with better graphics and free online

I'm not the games biggest fan tbh. Bought it for my son, he loves it. Looks amazing though, especially at 1080p.

What????? The PS3 when lauched was £425 or pounds as you say. Where the hell did you get that 599 figure from? I suppose it changes your story a bit through beucuase that would mean your PC was actually £325 more than the PS3 at its highest price which doent sound as good does it?

I'm resorting to buying it off Steam seeing as the Wal Mart here never updates their stock so they still have games like Star Craft and Diablo 2

Gears was constant 60fps. As are all games. Crysis was much lower. Probably 25 average. Still very playable, i do have a mod though which makes gfx look like very high on xp.

oh and the reason i type pounds instead of the symbol is cos im on my uk laptop that has been changed to australian keyboard lol. the pound symbol actually does # instead. No idea what key does the pound symbol.

Both came out in 2006. Both are stronger technical achievements than Gears

This thread really just boils down to another pc superiority thread. We get it ok, graphics are best on pc. If you have the knowledge and money. What hermits are unwilling to admit, is that you do need the knowledge and money.
