The 3DS has been great for me so far. I've only played Tales of the Abyss and RE: Revelations and both have been great. Both great games.
I'll be ordering Devil Survivor for the 3DS soon as well (features things like full voice-acting over the DS version).
This really isn't the best place to ask. Of those, I guess the DS. I bought mine new for $30 and it has and extensive library of cheap but good games, though they may be a bit tough to track down
Edit: Oh wait, you said 3DS, oh well, DS is still worth considering.
Since you want casual games i sugggest the wii.. its the master of casual games
I would like to suggest the new Vita also, its an amazing handheld
Well do you want a console or a handheld?Spartan070
Anything will fit me. I'm a great fan of Pokemon and that is the biggest pro on the 3DS. VITA also has amazing games and it will have many more, but the majority of them are also available on the PS3. The Wii-U is different from everything I ever experienced, so who knows?
3DS and Vita are pretty close in quality, but since you have a PS3, I'd recommend the 3DS to get a little more variety.
Honestly though, if you make your decision based off who wins the poll, I think you'll be disappointed. Sit on it for a few days before making a final decision.

I won't, I just made the poll for analysis.
I have a PS3 and Wii combo and they are equally fantastic. Wii has a large library of the strongest 1st party this gen, and PS3 has some good 1st party and all the great multiplats... I suggest waiting for Wii-U which will be backwards compatible with Wii games
Gotta go with the Vita on this one.
[QUOTE="PinnacleGamingP"]get a second ps3 thats what i didlundy86_4
That seems entirely redundant.
Some people do that... I know a guy with 5 360s. Doesn't own any other gaming platforms at all. He doesn't use them for LANs or anything just has them hooked up in different rooms. It makes zero sense.

Yeah, that seems entirely redundant
As of right now I say 3DS > WiiU > Vita. If the Vita's upcoming confernece showing off games impresses me, that could change.

It really doesn't make sense. Especially since TC is looking for a different experience... Not the same one, twice :P
True, that would be a good idea, since he did say he wanted a casual system :PGet a PC

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]You need a PC.xsubtownerxNot for casual gaming he doesn't. What, you don't think casual games exist on PC?
I would never, ever come to System Wars for advice on what system I should buy next.
Do your own research. Google is a great search engine. Research the hardware and software libraries of everything out there.
Only you know what you want, and doing your own research for these kinds of things is invaluable.

I actually did the same thing. I heard fat PS3's die, so I bought a slim that is still boxed up, but my fat PS3 just refuses to die. I have the 80 gig fat PS3 that is backwards compatible with PS2 games, and it still runs really smoothly, I'm starting to wonder if it will ever die.
I didn't just buy a backup for PS3, I bought a backup for every system I own. I've probably had 50 systems in my life, and I have never had a single system die on me, ever. So the backups might just be collector's items in the long run.

He's not getting anything different if he buys another PS3. He still has to exactly the same games.

My 60gb is still going as well. It's kinda crazy :P
Going with the choices that you listed and taking into account that you're into the Pokemon series, the 3DS would probably be the better choice for you. It's not terribly expensive and has some solid games available. If you don't have the original DS, then you can also consider purchasing games from that library as well, since the 3DS is backwards compatible. I'm sure you're aware that the DS library has several Pokemon games to choose from, along with a ton of other great games.

different =/= betterdifferent =/= better

My word, this is like having an intelligent debate with a hamster. Nobody said that. However, buying the same system twice does not offer him a console for the "more casual" games, which was directly stipulated by the TC.
Seriously, this is just dumb.

Slow? Hardly. Yes, other systems have great games as well. Whether you like it or lump it.
Buying the same system twice is redundant. It's also the dumbest response you could post as to what the TC is looking for.
Get a PS3 TC, have one already? doesnt matter get another one. 360 and wii are both garbage dont bother with them, in fact owning 10 ps3's makes more sense then getting anything else. trust me i have a 3DS and ps3 is all you need.PinnacleGamingP

You apparently spread opinion as fact, though.
hey im no artist i dont draw fine linesIf you already have a PS3 then getting a Vita is a no brainer, the connectivity between the two devices is amazing. Plus you can cross platform play your games, I wached a video online of people playing Skyrim on PS Vita! Imagine a portable Skyrim! Also if you like the PS3 you'll probably like the Vita, it will be getting many Playstation Titles that you are familair with.
I'm personally going to be picking one up soon, just have to decide when lol.

Do you suffer from any mental disorder? I said I have a PS3, and I want to play games that aren't available on the PS3 so how does me buying another PS3 will fix that problem?
Some people shouldn't have access to the internet..
