Reapers bad. Saren's spaceship a Reaper. You killed the Reaper, and Saren. Universe is safe (for now... dun dun dunnnnnn!!!).
Saren (or whatever is name was) was a puppet, not the actual bad guy. The actual villains was some alien race. You only delayed the destruction/takeover/etc. of the galaxy, you didn't stop it.-Skyfall
this sounds about right. and didnt the council just become humans.
ppl arent mentioning the reapers and what happened to the protheans ...

Well, that depends on the choice you made. If you chose to save the council ship, then they survive and allow a human representative to join, and then you can choose between Captain Anderson or that whiny ambassador guy. If you choose to focuson attacking Sovereign, then they die and the humans take control of the council.

Reapers bad. Reapers kill Protheans. Saren's ship a Reaper. You killed Reaper, and Saren. Hooray!
And since we're on the subject of Mass Effect's story, did anyone else find it a complete cop out that the Reaper's reason for wanting to kill everything every however many years was explained away with "ah, you wouldn't understand!".
They're really going to need the ability to carry over the save data, or at least some of the general data. Like I saved the council (Paragon pwns your soul) and I want to see them next game, it'll be lame as hell if that choice doesn't get shown in the next one. AndI got with Liara, I want that to continue as well (like maybe she's pregnant and taken hostage).

You call it a cop out, I call it planting a seed. This game was about "OMG there's what, destroy it!" The next one is set up for gaining more knowledge (b/c people will obviously believe now) and being preemptive against the coming reapers. They can't tell you everything in the first one if they want to keep you on your toes for the next two.
Yeah, that pissed me off a little, and how there was no explanationof how the reapers came to exist, instead we get "we have existed since the beginning of time and will exist until the end."

They have to leave room to expand the story in the next two iterations. It makes perfect sense why they were vague.

But in my play through Saren killed Saren. I killed Dead Robot Saren.
Is it like that for everyone or only those who put points into intimidation/charm(?)

a good friend of mine told me that bioware is going to give you afew questions to answer about the choices you made in the first game. i hear this was also done in kotor2
for those who haven't played it, my post contains spoilers
basically Bioware wanted to make a kotor game without the star wars license and the result was glitchy derivative crap

yeah, but it didnt really affect the game to much, and the questions were pretty subtle.also
the citadel and mass relays were actually reaper technology, which they used to wipe out races who find the citadel
Well, that is a relief. That little bit had me worried, I figured allof the little decisions I made thatcouldn't really be touched upon(rachni queen and saving the council in particular) woudl just have one solution selected and being called accurate, but kudos to BioWare for that feature.

Yes, but Kotor and Kotor II have a missing piece to link them together... that being the developer.
