I played madden 08 on the ps3 today.....why do people like the ps3?

yeah, so i played madden today for ps3 as the title suggests. first off, the game ran signifigantly slower than the xbox 360 version, as we all know it does (i have the 360 demo at my house). the game, on an hdtv, was a lot more jagged around the edges compared to my tv that i run a 360 on, which is composite no less. and finally, the goddamn ps3 FROZE, which begs the question....why do people like the ps3??????bobbarkerbeauty

Well despite what some people say, it does play games. I would assume thats why people like it.... :shock:

first off, don't start talking about the PS3 freezing. I don't see Sony having to extend the warrenty to 3 YEARS because of their faulty system. Second, Madden is worse on the PS3 because its multi plat. Every multiplat game (most) will be better on the 360 because its easier to develope for. And why do people like it? Well, the exclusives, its Blu Ray, Home, and IMO its superior hardware and more intelligent interface (i never liked the dashboard). 1. The PS3 has dual 1080p support.

2. The PS3 has 4D graphics.

3. All PS3 games run at 120fps.

So then you might ask "Well if the PS3 is so powerful, why do multi-platform games struggle to maintain the same quality you see on the Xbox 360."

Madden by no means shows even close to what ps3 can do. Madden is trash that wasn't even designed with the ps3 in mind. Don't ever think that an EA game will show what a system can do. Oh and to answer the question as to why ppl like ps3 go play Resistance or Warhawk for FREE with dedicated lag free servers that support upwards of 32 players and then come back, mmk???

Well you had bad luck there if the PS3 frooze up. Mine never frooze not even once and I have the PS3 since lounch day here in NYC. I play a lot...I have a lot of games....I play PS1, PS2, PS3 games. Not a single porblem! So that was just bad luck that you had there.

Secondly I can't really comment on the Madden game for I hate American Futball but I have 19 other PS3 games and they all work just fine. There are games that are better on the PS3 than on the 360 you know. Oblivion, GRAW2, Marvel to name just a few!!

Just to answer your question to why I like the PS3 I'll list a few things and yes...blu-ray is one of them but not the major one although I have 40 blu-ray movies up untill this point! (yea I'm a movie lover :D )

#1 I've been playing Playstation or the way I like to call it "Playstationing" since 1997 and I always had a blast.

#2 Sony always came out on top in the system wars and last gen it was behind just like now and look what happend!

#3 Sony's first party games are the best quality games out there IN MY OPINION.

#4 The games that appeal to me are on the Playstation 3 (MGS, FF, Killzone, Tekken, Ridge Racer) And if you are curious I loved Killzone 1.

#5 The online is free and it's great and had no lag before. (I've been playing a lot of R6V and no problems)

#6 The joystick that they have...the SIXAXIS, I just love it. I'm happy that they are keeping the shape of the joysick and just improoving on an already great controler.

#7 The option to change the HDD to whatever size I want to is great. (Just got a 120gig)

#8 The downloadable games I thing are better than the ones on XBL. (That's in my opinion)

#9 The price is a bargain for a machine like that...well built!

#10 Yes, blu-ray. It's great to watch blu-ray movies in 1080p on my brand new Sony 52" plasma!

#11 If a guy has been driveing a ferrari all his life.....he will never change for a BMW just because more people tell him too! He knows that he has something of great quality in his hands. Something that's well built and wont have to be taken to the repairshop that often!

Totally with ya. Except, the multiplat issue is going bye bye as we speak. The only reason the multiplat issue existed was because of a year lead and the install base that came from it.

I persoanlly cant stand all of these people who pass judgement on the PS3 after only 9 months on the market. Why dont you go back and see where the 360 was after 9 months! What awesome games did it have? Well, I can tell you.....

Oblvion, GRAW, FNR3, R6 Vegas, CoD 2, PDZ, Condemned, Kameo, FEAR, PGR 3, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Dead Rising, DOA 4and maybe a few others!

After 9 months the PS3 has 6 of those games plus Motorstorm, RFoM, VF 5 and we are two days away from Warhawk. So I think the uninformed PS3 bashers should try and spend some actaul time with the PS3 outside of their neighborhood WalMart and see what it has to offer!! Once devs really get ahold of the PS3's technology and begin to utilize it, I think it is safe to say that it will be the 360 that gets the ports!!!
