I prey NG2's story is a good one.

Lets face it, NG is almost PERFECT, thats right you heard me. Gameplay is nailed down...it so smooth and well made it doesn't even play like a game. It requires skill to beat, unlike other button mashers. That being said, Biggest critism was its story, it wasn't very eye catching or interesting. If tecmo manage to nail down an epic and big story, which i kinda doubt, going by this footage intro for NG2 LINK

its possible and maybe Tecmo can achieve something as epic as GOW or DMC4. because i can think of a lot of huge things that can be done around a NINJA like Hayabusa.

Judging by the latest screens, I get a GOW feeling from it. The levels are MUCH bigger as are the bosses.

The original NON-Team Ninja Developed NG had a better story, and they didn't have much, and they were outlandish.

The game stars a Ninja, but you don't really act as one (Unlike Tenchu) but the reason I love it is Gameplay.

It's a Blast, it's like a fighting game mixed with a great action game.

Team Ninja could always hire external writers but I doubt they would gain much in terms of sales from it.

Heck, you TC, who is advocating a story, will probably buy NG2 sans a fantastic story, and you know what? You'll still like it.

It's all good.

AH, I don't care what GS thinks at all. If I love it, it's all good.

Check out what GS gave Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Zelda, Perfect Dark Z, and a host of others, it's crazy.

If we got an online NG, it would probably be a dumbed down DOA, so I wouldn't want it.
However, a good Co-op NG would be AWESOME.

It has A LOT to live up to, buddy...you can't just count gameplay and its a straight AAA game. Like i said, the Gameplay is just about perfect, IMO..but knowing reveiwers these days, Mulitplayer counts for a lot, so does a good story. GS can be harsh so who knows. I don't doubt it, tho.

I see the quality, hell i made the this topic in excitement, but we don't all have that opinion.

SMG really didnt have much of a story, and no multiplayer and it was still able to get AAA and goty, so anything is possible.

edit: also, I'm assuming as you progress through the game, enemies get smarter/stronger, you get more weapons, health and powerups which also propels the game foward.

It doesn't need one. We don't play NG for the story, much like how I didn't like the recent Transformers movie for the story. Much like I don't play Mario Bros for the story.

You know that video they showed at GDC with the demon talking to Ryu was very well voice acted and executed as a scene.

I think they have put a little more effort into that part of the game with this one but it's a pretty wacky world the game takes place in.

It would be a great bonus if it had one, but not necessary for the game to be great. (much like the previous one)
