I hated the Wii when it came out back in 2006. It wasn't until I played Mario Galaxy that I saw how really amazing it was. And then after going to party's and playing Wii Sports, I couldn't believe people still hate it. I wouldn't consider myself a casual gamer, I played counterstrike 1.5 competivley, and starcraft, but dam, the Wii is actually alot better than what you guys have been saying on this board. Surprised people prefer the 360 over it, but :(

no, i agree with him. the Wii's "AAA's" are either rehashes or kiddy games. IMO of course.

You could say the same thing about every console.

:lol: suprised that people like 360 more than a Wii? I'll be honest that statement there probably just destroyed any possible credibility you could have had. The Wii is a great second console but as a primary it is abysmal. I own all three nd up to Wii SPorts resort had not taken Wii sports out of the Wii except for a few rentals(Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid, Super mario Kart, and a few others)which none held my interest longer than a rental. The Wii is powered up once my friends and I have a few pops in us and just want to goof around with the bowling.

I bought the Wii so I can say I hate it while saying that I own it to back up my words. :P I kid, I kid. I agree that the Wii isn't as bad as everyone says it is, but it's not number one on my playing list either. Still, I don't regret owning one either. :)

The Wii is what it is. I happen to think it;s a great console that has a lot of fun niche titles that you can't play on any other console. I;m grateful for that, I have a PS3 for Action/adventure game sequel 13 taht plays exactly like a PS1 game with better graphics

I agree totally with your primary/second console statement. Come to think of it, that's probably why I hate the Wii so much cause I'm using it as the primary system this gen. I barely use it and it barely has any games. I will admit however that the new Spectrobes looks oddly promising. Hope that turns out to be good. As for the TC.....look at his username :P

not because there are no good party games, but because I like playing alone, laying down holding the controller instead of jumping like a moron infront oof the TV in the middle of the night.... and that sadly is the case with my other friends.. . and so, the thing just collects dust waiting for some game to come out, SMG2 maybe?

Is there some additional control system that requires you to leap around? Or is just because most people bagging on in played little more than Wii Sports?

well I don't own a wii myself so my experience with it is limited... I'm more of a DS guy when it comes to nintendo saying that, super smash bros brawl, mario kart and wario ware are the best multiplayer games I've played this gen BY FAR

I dont hate the wii, it dissapointed me as a nintendo fan greatly, but kids and a lot of other people seem to really dig it, and its doing pretty good for nintendo so theres not much i can really say about it

wii is the best console nintendo have released since the snes, wii has the best downloadable games service of any console, wii has the most variety, wii has better exclusive support than the PS3 and 360 combined overall a pretty good console

Ok but he might like it. It's his opnion just like Mass Effect sucking is yours. I personally don't like it myself to be honest. Never saw the appeal. BioWare also dropped the ball on the Sonic RPG as well. I guess I'd have to play BioWare's other games to understand why people hype them.

LOL, no. PS3 and 360 combo is redundant, you need xbox wii60 or PSwii combos to really take advantage of all the possible gaming combinations.

i never said it wasn't, but yeah not a fan of that game. bioware have fallen far imo sonic chronicles is worse though, so is crisis core. jaysus

wait what? the wii has slaughtered the 360 in sales showing that most americans prefer the wii. for the topic i think the wii is a good console and gets way too much hate here on gamespot, but i would still say i prefer the 360. i'd put this gen in this order pc>360>wii>ps3. the ps3 is becoming awesome but it's first couple of years were abysmal. the wii atleast started pretty strong with zelda.

I love the Wii and don't understand the hate for it either. I mean I'm not going to bash 360 and ps3 games, they look great but I'm a one console person. I can't justify spending a lot of money on more than 1. So as a 26 year old (not 10) person I went with the Wii, why? It has a great variety of games for me, my friends,and my family who come over. I have games that work great for me(ie. Okami, Mario Galaxy, Conduit etc.) and then I have games that are great for when people come over and we want to do a little gaming.(ie, Wii Sports, Wario Smooth moves, mario kart) Honestly not trying to be a jerk here but what do Xbox and Ps3 owners do when you have people who aren't your average video game players play? I mean that what's great about the Wii is the fact that a person who has never really played video games (parents, grandparents, people who didn't grow up in the 80s) can pick up Wii Sports and in a couple of tries be pretty good. Give you grandma a 360 controller and try explaining the Halo controls to her. Also it's great to be able to go back and play the great nes,snes, and sega games I grew up on. IMO I feel that the hardgore gamers have a hard time grasping the idea that they are in the minority, hence why no matter how great all these games they play will never beat a Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart in sales. Because those games appeal to the mass audience and not the minority audience. (also the fact they are appropriate for any age helps too) And I'm sure alot of you hardcore gamers can say you enjoyed Mario Galaxy as well. The Wii appeals to the mass audience and not just the hardcore gamer audience.

I don't play video games with them, I play board games or go in the woods or whatever.

Scores do not equal quality :? And Gears sold fantastically.

Maybe in your eyes. I would say general acknowledgement and awards from various game developers and critics makes it a pretty sure thing that the game is quality. And dont be cute with me, you know that sales DONT NECESSARILY equal quality. My point is theres no direct correlation. And since were on Gamespot SW, im pretty sure we go by GS scores, Otherwise there would be no sanity here.

i thought gears was really good in co-op. one of my favourites this gen. i've only played the first halo and it was quite good if a little overrated mass effect wasn't very good

I hated the Wii when it came out back in 2006. It wasn't until I played Mario Galaxy that I saw how really amazing it was. And then after going to party's and playing Wii Sports, I couldn't believe people still hate it. I wouldn't consider myself a casual gamer, I played counterstrike 1.5 competivley, and starcraft, but dam, the Wii is actually alot better than what you guys have been saying on this board. Surprised people prefer the 360 over it, but :(wiibetterthanu

You hated the Wii and now you love it...I don't understand.

The Wii doesn't have enough games that interest me for me to buy it.. There are a few games that I would consider to buy *if* I had the console but right now I don't think it's worth it, the controls also hinder me buying it also.

I do like my wii. Although right now I play my 360 more. I still can not wait for Wii Zelda to come out. I think it might be my GOTY.
