I saw the strangest thing in my local EB games today.

Took a trip to my local EB games, located in White Plains-NY, looking for a copy of Bioshock/PC... and I noticed something unusual.

When I first walked in the store I saw the usual PS3/360/Wii kiosks running demos, but I noticed a crowd near the back of the store. Well, strange enough there was a PC "Games fo Windows" kiosk running a World in Conflict demo in the middle of the store... and as I glanced over to the back of the store I saw a wall... covered with PC games. Yes, that's right, shelf space for"Games for Windows"PC games in EB games. I walked over to the PC kiosk and watched a person playing World in Conflict... with an Xbox 360 controller plugged into the PC. The kioskdemo was really cool, you basically have infinite "super points" to spend on nukes and artillery, presumably to "Wow" players with special effects, and the game look amazing, no jaggies, smooth framerate, sharp textures.

Wow, I really can't understand why Hermits hate Microsoft... I asked the cashier when they added the PC stuff and she said just recently MICROSOFT SPENT SOME OF THEIR CASH TO INVEST IN MARKETING PC GAMES IN MAJOR RETAIL STORES AROUND THE GLOBE SOMETHING SONY AND NINTENDO DON'T DO. She said most EB games now have PC kiosks and PC wallspace, same with major stores like Best Buy and Circuit City.

Thank you Microsoft for supporting PC gaming.

Well, I haven't been game shopping for months :P so this is a first sighting for me.

With Microsoft backing PC gaming, we should be in good hands.

I went to EB games today and bought a "new game". Except its not new. It has shrink wrap on it, but not the original type that encases PS2 games. It didn't have any seals on the case, like the ones that new games or dvds have on the top of the case with the title written on them. And it had a price sticker attached to the case, under the plastic wrap. I opened it up and the game disk is scratched and smudged and the booklet has definitely been flipped through. I am eagerly awaiting tomorrow when I get to take it back and yell at somebody. Other than preordering games, these stores are just awful.

according to some here on SW, MS doesn't get anything from sales of PC games...so why would they back the PC? Doesn't this just prove that MS has to have something to gain by the sale of PC games?VideoGameGuy

that cashier was full of it. i KNOW this because im a Manager for an eb games. in NY. very few eb games and gamestops even carry pc games. on a side note i understand why there are so many M$ fanboys at eb games and gamestops. The microsoft representatives are paid by a different company other then M$. this company pushes them to give away free games,stickers and other things. I know this again because they've tried it with me. trying to win store managers over by trying to shower us with small gifts. its pathetic

Microsoft is probably the dumbest cie in the world... the only thing really good they made is Hotmail and even there, Hotmail Live is all screwed.

At least there is MSN... but MSN is now all screwed due to personnal information protection...

Vista is the biggest piece of crap I could ever imagine to be created after XP. All the navigation and file management is uterly trashy and unrespensive... no longer can you simply transfer and copy files with a single click, now you need to go into the toolbar menu... absolutely pathetic...

Would you also explain me why I need to format my hardrive every 3 months? BECAUSE OF WINDOWS BEHAVIORS WITH OTHER PROGRAMS?

Let's not talk about bad hardware design, the 360 is everything of a nightmare of faulty design... They didn't manage to design proper heatsinks... that's pathetic...

All in all, Microsoft is uterly lucky to be able to have the money they have because their products are far from something I call of good quality.

If I could only be able to run another OS with the same compatibility with most software on windows... but now even graphic cards are made with windows in mind. You can't live without it.

i went to Anchorage fora few days and took a trip to Gamestop and their wii kiosks's didn't have any wii mote's either. And their PS3 kiosk's had incredibly stiff triggers. What the hells up with that?

And I rember PC Kiosks a few years back here in Australia - Hell I played BF1942 on one back in the days.
