I said this before and I'll say it again. PS3 has enough quality games and good features to warrant a purchase, and now that the price has decreased it's even more desirable.

Quality PS3 games:

1. RFOM
2. Motorstorm
3. Folklore
4. VF5
5. Heavenly Sword
6. Warhawk
7. R&C future
8. Unchrated
9. OBlivion
10. Assassins creed
11. COD4
12. UT3

Plus you also get a Blue-ray player, free online as well as other wonderful features.

PS3 is a diserable console whether you like it or not and I'm sure it's going to do great this holiday season. I admit PS3 has been struggling this year but every console starts of sluggish but gets better. Don't expect PS3 to repeat this next year as finally its killer apps will arrive, MGS4, FF13, GT5, T6 etc.

1) well quite a few do judging by blu-ray movie sales. personally i couldnt give a rats ass though which is why sony basically paid for my blu-ray drive (thanks guys :D).

2) i agree there, basically there both going to produce the same results on the technical side at the end of the day.

3) and (since were counting unreleased) FF and GOW and dont forget team ico. for the love of god dont forget team ico. chances are whatever thay come up with will be nothing short of amazing and will be worth the price of a PS3.

4) it has alot of the best 3rd party games as does the 360. no good games is very harsh. if u only have a PS3 then theres plenty to choose from.

5) aye tis. sony have improved that alot though. 600 was a joke but the new prices are far more reasonable imho....especially if u get a good deal.

6) i wouldnt say 10X better but they certainly do have an edge over it at the mo in the games department imho. however if u want a multimedia center then a PS3 is a better choice and the games situation will improve just like it has on wii.

That was weak.

Its affordable now, it doubles as a Blu-Ray palyer, it has good and even some great games, online play is free, Upcoming stellar stuff.

Why wouldnt you want to buy one is the question....

Right now, I totally agree with the OP's comment IF you already own a 360. With only Resistence, HS, and Drake's Fortune currently on the system as games that appeal to me, I can't justify paying $399 or more to play those games. Maybe in a year or so, and maybe if the system gets down to $299, then I'd consider buying one. But, if you already own a 360, then I don't see anything that would pull me to buy a PS3.

That being said - if you don't own a 360, then the PS3 has a lot of great games on it (lots of them multiplat - COD4, RSV, GRAW2, etc.) that would justify a purchase. I still favor the 360's lineup over the PS3's, but I could see how someone would choose a PS3 overa 360.

Blu Ray (and HD DVD) look absolutely stunning on a large 1080p tv. I don't think either formats are ever going to achieve mass consumption though.
