When it's done is better than rushing to get it out be some given release date.AAllxxjjnnThat's the thing though, the game is full of clone cars. It's really not worth their time and nobody really asked them to do it that way.

Rush to get it LOL, how long has it been in development again. This is the lame excuse I hear all the time , there is NO excuse for this game to not have been done by now. And no having 50 versions of a Honda civic doesn't count as a reason.
Either Sony is going PD too much leeway or PD is simply incompetent
I am losing interest in the game every day
there is NO excuse for this game to not have been done by now.

You don't work for Polyphony. You have no idea what may have come up during development.

I know what came up, GT PSP floped, Forza 3 came out and they went back to the drawing board. Quit making excuses for them it's really sad.

Wow.It'll launch when its done alright, its a big game being created by a perfectionist, of course it'll take a long time, in the mean time why don't you ask yourself whats taking Alan Wake so long to come out

Your right we should be asking about Alan WAke, considering XBox owners have been waiting for this game since launch, and is the most know IP for MS. Oh wait it's not that would be GT for playstation. All the excuses cows make for this game is sickening.
what's really tiring is that the racing sim genre has tons of perfectionists in it, perfect sims have existed since the 90's and GT5 can't even hope to touch the simulation detail of games like iRacing.com or rFactor (which has been around since 2005)... what's also tiring is that those devs are already working on their sequels which plan to take the already lightyears-ahead simulations and push them even further, it seems like PD is focusing all of their effort on seemingly everything BUT the driving - i mean things like track details, pit stops, graphics, menus, and community features (trying heavily to close the gap with Forza in that area as well)
so it's just like... i'm sure GT5 will be a good game but if it's not revolutionary then what exactly are they trying to do? be everything to everybody? make everybody else obsolete forever and ever? i don't think that's ever worked

now although this may seem like a fanboy comment (it may actually have some truth to it).
Why? because forza 3 set the bar really high with its innovative car design creator. GT5 and poly are probably worried about the reaction they will get, that may end up ruining their reputation.

while I partially agree with this it really is getting to the point where there is no excuse for this, I suppose we should bring back the devs of duke nukem forever as well because things mightve come up during development. There job is to get around these issues when making a game. Plus, as the consumers its our job to hype, buy, and play. However if they keep pushing a title back, as consumers we have every right to complain.

Do building a completely new game engine and have a development team half the size of their direct competitors count as good excuses? Whether you accept them or not these are the reasons why it's taking so long. Besides it's not like you were going to buy it in the first place so why do you care? ;)This game has been talked about and in developement for over 5 years now. Same thing was true with SOCOM,MGS4...Those 3 games were in developement and talked about for years. I have magazines from about 04 where they were talking about them..lol..
The whole "when its done" philosophy works with Valve and they make some amazing games, so I'm sure when it is done it will be a spectacular experience, so far its looking like the greatest ever racing game. Of coursethey betterget this out by this fall or next year before it turns into the next Duke Nukem Forever. Once it comes out I'm sure you naysayers will be silenced.
When it's done is better than rushing to get it out be some given release date.AAllxxjjnnTwo things happen after a game has been in development for over 5 years. It ends up being a outstanding game, or a real piece of garbage. The game suffers from duke nukem forever syndrome. Everytime its close to release the competition comes out with a new feature, or the fans complain, so they feel they must implement it. That or they are just taking their sweet ass time. Either way its unacceptable.
They are probably scared of forza 3. This gives more time for people wanting the best simulation to buy a 360.

There is no excuse. Whatever they're trying to accomplish will be yesterday's news in just months. This is why sequels exist. I'm all for putting as much content into a game as possible, but I doubt that's what they're doing. It could be laziness, it could be the graphics being too hot for the PS3 to handle so they have to constantly make minor changes for that 60 fps to stay on.peanutbudduhits impossible for GT5 to be running at 60 FPS and have 400k Polyogons in each car. the Ps3 can' do it, I'll explain in another post :)

lol yet if it were last year lems would be doing the same bout Alan Wake?
Fanboy logic dictates what they say here.Im thinking GT5 will be out this year even Kaz the lead designer on GT isa known and actually has even said on record he's a perfectionist no wonder this games taking ages he's like the Miyamoto of racing games if it aint right first time do it all again.

Okay Here we go.
*plays Too human "aeon" soundtrack :)* (heres the link to the MOOSIK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4rLmBO9dAU)
now the Ps3 can put 275 million polys on the screen in a second.
http://www.ps3vault.com/sony-ps3-275000000-polygons-per-second-vs-xbox-360%E2%80%99s-500000000-2382
but games don't run at 1 frame per second. if GT5 ran at 60 frames the equation goes like this 275Million/60.
now 275Million/60=4,583,333 polygons. There are 16 cars on the screen.if you divide 4.583 million by 16 it equals 286.4k. thats not bad.... but then you have to remember that the track is made up of polygons too. so I'd estimate that 300- 400k polygons are put into the screen as the track. so that would only allow each car to have 260k polygons still way under that 400k mark. but if the game were running at 30 FPS then 400k is easily obtainable. :)
I lost interest to buy a PS3 with so many great games that defined PS as a console , coming up after 5-6 years of PS3 release... Come on now...
GoW3 - Gt5 - FF13 ...and many more like last guardian etc... I mean .. We are near to next gen consoles ( 2 years max ) and we havent seen yet Icon PS games that most of us were hyped when PS3 released...
I agree with TC
