I mean its like halo2 PC graphix almost.. why they make it look like junk? at least gears did a gj at it. Just watched the comparison on gametrailers.. ugh
you guys are being a bit harsh its only a beta. now i will say that it will be an impressive game however i think they could have squezed this power onto the original xbox they did it GoW2 for the PS2 they could have done halo 3 for the xbox
Graphics didn't really impact me in the least. It's the gameplay that was lacking IMO. It's only a Beta, and i know they have time left (a good amount), but it's not great right now.
I don't judge games based on graphics like most people, sorry.
holy crap. I cannot believe how many people have started threads about the halo 3 graphics. its ridiculous. THE GAME ISNT COMING OUT FOR 5+ MONTHS, ITS A BETA. NOW STFU.
Yes the "BETA" graphics look like crap, and if they are not drastically changed by the time the game comes out..... wow halo 3 will be a flop graphics wise.
But I gotta say......
gameplay wise, I thought the multiplayer beta was boring as sin. This is the first Halo game I have played online ( I played 2 once before at a lan party and was not impressed then ) The game modes are just dull, and that + the bad graphics made me kinda glad I did not wait around all day for the beta to be released. I LOVE the halo series for the single player portion, but the multi portion I am def not gonna be looking forward to.
For one thing gears of war has small maps and really no draw distance has only 8 players at onces so they can focus on everything else.
Even though halo is in beta stage which mostly represents final game they still have 4,5 months to improve alot.
Halo 3 graphics are really decent I prob give them 8.9\10 and halo 3 lol has really no glicthes can't even say that for a completed game gears. Halo gameplay outshines Gears.
See the front page story - there's no comparison. Halo 3 graphics actually look very good, and it is only a beta. It doesn't look like Gears because it doesn't have the same art style. Halo 3 follows Halo's unique art style, which is a bit more cartoonish than GRAW or Gears - but no less beautiful. Very colorful, great lighting, fine textures, and good modeling already. I can't wait to see the finished product.
1- Its only a beta. 2- Halo is fun as heck 3- It looks a lot better than Halo 2, it has better lighting, details, etc. I think it looks just fine. 4- Halo owns gears in terms of gameplay. Halo 2 is still a better game than Gears in terms of multiplayer. Heck even single player. Halo 3 will own Gears.
I think they graphics are good, its more colourful than most shooters but the buildings and environments are basic compared to Gears Of War but i think it looks ok, as long as its got awesome gameplay......and if single player looks as good as the E3 trailer..

Alot agree with you, after seeing all those eye candy games on the 360 people were expecting halo 3, the reason why those 10 million people bought the console, to deliver TEH ROXORZZ graphics quality. It's still a beta, but gamespot said that they don't expect it to look much better than this in the final build. Lets hope the gameplay evolved alot since halo 2.
As for me, i don't really give a rats a$$ about the entire halo franchise, personally i think halo is way overrated, but thats just me, hope all you lemms enjoy it though ;).
They really better make a new engine for the next game. I think that's why it looks so terrible. The level geometry has that squared off flat look of Halo2 and for a next-gen game it is just not up to par no matter how many effects they tack on top of it. Halo3 visuals are a smaller change than Halo:CE to Halo2 really.... and 3 is supposed to be a generation ahead for christs sake.
