Wii. It's 30 bucks and has all the extras from all versions of the game on the other consoles. It also has great controls and updated graphics (not much, but still better).
Get on the ball man! The Wii version is the best choice (since it has the better graphics than the GC version and all the extras of the PS2 version). If you don't have a Wii, determine your purchase by the following: Slightly better graphics (GC) or extra content (PS2).
Wii, after playing Resident Evil 4 Wii edition, then playing The Darkness, it took me a while to adapt to the controller again. Very, very fun, much better than the GC version, plus all the extras.
I picked up RE4 a while ago for my gamecube used at gamespot and haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I look forward to the day I can, but finding time to in the real world (or at least graduate school world) out of undergrad is a rude awakening...
It's an amazing game... but somehow I only played about half of it. There was too much going on for me at the time, and I never finished it, so I may have to get it for the Wii. Best in the series if you ask me.

Play it on the wii man. Don't criticize it's controls without trying it out. Look how much praise it's getting from its great controls. It's truly awesome and much better than using analog sticks. The controls are magical.
One of the best games ever made, period. I absolutely love it to death, and cannot praise it highly enough. Get it, play it, play it again, play it a 3rd time... and play it again! That's what I did anyway.

I was so busy with all the games coming out on all systems, I never got around to RE4, a little too addicted to XBL.
I kept thinking I should play it last gen (it looked freaking awesome and got great scores everywhere), I just never got to it. Now that it is out for only $29.99 for the Wii, I'm def picking it up for that. I was super excited to get a Wii but it has since mostly collected dust, just not enough games of substance. This is one of the games that changes that. It will be totally new to me and the new control scheme is supposed to make it even better. Reallly looking forward to playing this on Wii:)

I really envy you. I wish I could experience resident evil 4 for the first time on the Wii... I wish I could erase my memories of the GC version and just experience it for the first time on the Wii. I am SO jealous of you, you have no idea. You are in for a magical, stupendous treat.
Well i havent played RE4 yet, its odd because i bought RE0 and 1 on GCN and really enjoyed them but just never got around to buying 4. Anyways, i am probably gonna get myself a Wii tomorrow with a copy of RE4 (And The Darkness for the 360 :D ) and i am really looking forward to playing it :)

Strafing would make RE4 one of the easiest games ever made. And it would erase the high-tension moments that make the game so special.
One of the most boring games I've ever played.. only made semi dramatic on the cube and ps2 by unresponsive controls.. if you are scared of zombies then you might find this a thrill... i can't believe the reviews this game gets, its ridiculously formulaic and all comes down to head shots... and so, so linear... its like watching a movie you play exactly the same game as everyone else if you get what I'm saying.. there is very little individuality in the game... there is 12 hours I'll never see again.. Oh and the graphics.. looked great AT THE TIME now look v.v.dated. Avoid.
I still have yet to play the game and after having read the positive review on Resident Evil 4 for the Wii, I'm going to delay my purchase. I originally wanted to purchase it for the GameCube, but now it is the Wii, after I get my hands on one.

Well, to be fair, RE4 plays nothing like RE1. It's like comparing Ninja Gaiden on the NES to Ninja Gaiden Black.
I know were you were going with this analogy,but I had to laugh since I really enjoyed the original Ninja Gaiden and hear that while Black is a great game, it makes you want to ram your head into a wall. :)
