you had to have known that price would have went down eventually. While the PS3 was expensive Sony was saying it was because of production problems of key components (some crystals in particular I believe). So, as soon as production was smoothed out the price had to drop. GunSmith1_basic

Anyway though, on topic. I paid $600 and I don't feel jaded at all. I have the 60 gig and feel it is the best of all the Sony Sku's. Any time your an early adopter your going to have to deal with the fact that the price is going to drop...

Motorstorm is awesome, and it's comforting to know it's another game you will never get to play because you're too narrow-minded. Wrap your head around that. The only thing keeping you from enjoying these games is some ridiculous mental barricade that you put there! Hahaha. It's like having OCD or something.

Lair I haven't even bothered to play, I was too disappointed in the poor reviews across the board, but it's interesting that you didn't mention Resistance, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Tekken or the dozens of great multiplats out there, which is what I've been playing while I was "waiting for MGS4". It's obvious that you haven't played any of them, and probably never will.

First off, that's a terrible, terrible joke. Waitstation/Delaystation is funny, POS3 is somewhat funny, but that one just bombed like Pearl Harbor.

The difference in price isn't 200, the 60 GB dropped, or did your selective fanboy hearing block that part out? Speaking of harddrives, it seems to be worth that much to MS, since the HD is the only difference between the Elite and the Premium, now that the Premium has an HDMI port. It's also nice to be able to switch my PS3 HDD out with any HDD I choose to buy, instead of being forced to pay $100+ for the 20 GB Microsoft one.

Yes, it sucks to have reliable hardware and free online play. It sucks to play Resistance with 40p without the slightest trace of lag, and it sucks even more to play on SCEA's ranked dedicated Warhawk servers that are provided to us free of charge. I wish I could pay $50 a year for P2P play that has been free since God knows when. I wish I could send my console to the shop and deal with the worst customer service in the history of mankind. It sucks to watch my favorite movies in amazing quality that makes DVDs look like dinosaurs.

SKU after SKU? Do you even know what a SKU is? If you work in a retailer that sells consoles, check out the new 360 Holiday editions and tell me how many total SKUs MS has had.

I bought a iphone on day one for $600 plus tax the price dropped to $400 in a matter of weeks. Bought a psu last year for over $300 now it's under $200. Bought a hdtv for 2k last year now it's 1k,I am sure in a couple of months my gpu will be $200 or less when the next gen cards come out. I bought a yamaha reciever 2 years ago for over 1k new model with more features cost $600.

I knew the ps3 would drop in price there is no way sony would keep the price at $600 but I didn't think it would drop to $400 this fast. Am I mad no, my ps3 does much more than play games and has been worth it for me.

Your 600 PS3 has BC, so don't feel so bad since you got something out of it.

I paid 425 UK pounds at EU launch, at the exchange rate at the time, it would have been about $850, am i too bothered about the price cuts, no, why? because when you adopt a console early thats what happens, you ussually wait a long time for games.

I paid a crazy price when i bought my sega saturn years ago, ive been waiting for the 360 to come down in price and will be buying one soon, im expecting another price cut before christmas.

OMFG!!! If you didn't know that you'd be eating some $$$ by purchasing a new console early, I feel sorry for you. But I, as do others I'm sure, think that you did know that. And now you want to whine about it.

This actually works in your favor, you know. First off, as others have mentioned, you have BC over the 40GB. Second, the lower the price, the bigger the install base, the better the games are due to dev interest.
