I think the next Xbox is going to do really poorly...

What can Microsoft possibly launch with that would make people choose an xbox over the PS4?

Sure you can say the same thing about PS4, but we all know SONY has numerous established first-party franchises.

Halo 4 just came out, so Halo 5 is highly unlikely for a launch title. Gears: Judgement is coming out soon, would they really release another Gears in 8 months for Nov 2013? Unlikely.

And consumers, who've hopefully caught on to M$ greed by charging for online, would likely choose a PS4.

With PS4, SONY has the advantage of having a lot of franchises that have had some time for development since we last saw them. They can put out Uncharted 4, InFamous 3, even Killzone 4. Those games are possible considering they would have 2 years of development by Fall 2013. Those games can move units.

Maybe i am being one sided, what do you think? Feel free to disagree and rip me a new one.

Well it only took Halo and Gears this gen to put a whooping on Sony

So i'm assuming not much MS needs to do .... its more what Sony needs to do because Uncharted Killzone No Stars N all the rest of them didn't help Sony make any money ... meaning sales meaning people caring enough to go out n buy there games

As for MS games will come exclusives will come M$ remember they got the bank to spend

It wont do poorly. Xbox is the console of choice in the US. As long as you can play the COD's, BF's, Halo's, ect with a controler it will sell. But overall PS4 will easily win on global sales.

You didn't even the mention the system's best exclusive franchise. ;)

1) Nintendo alienated third party devs and wanted a have a cartridge format. The N64 was still awesome though.

2) Sony became arrogant due to its past two gens of success and made a very expensive console that was hard to develop for. They ended up coming back and matching MS in sales.

3) Sega released the Saturn the day they announced it, that alone seals their defeat. I'd argue that there's a fourth console curse, look at the Dreamcast (killed Sega) and the Gamecube (first gen Nintendo was in third).

Edit: Then again if MS makes a horrible mistake like I listed above, then you're right.

The next gen all comes down to price, Sony can not afford to blow all the money they did on first party IP agians. Do to the statement form sony saying they are looking to move into a higher end market. If that means a 499-599.99 ps4, it doesn't matter what games are out on it, it will not sell. If the next xbox comes out at 349. Micrsoft is a smart business, they will not out price the consumer

Its multiplat, but it might as well be an exclusive. We have no idea if MW4 will be made for the next gen XBOX or PS4... but we also don't know that Sony's Online is going to be free either... but that didn't stop you from just assuming..... so whats good for the goose is good for the gander, I always say.

I'm going to wait and see what MS & Sony are going to bring to the table... but if MS continues down the road of Kinect focused garbage... I'll most likely lean towards Sony.... if Sony doesnt get their sh!t together.... than it'll be PC / Nintendo for me, which is a very good combo if I do say so myself.

That's not what is going to enter into the minds of consumers as they choose. They will choose based on quality, price, looks, games, and functionality(what it does and how it's played ie motion controls, tablet, or standard).

That's not what is going to enter into the minds of consumers as they choose. They will choose based on quality, price, looks, games, and functionality(what it does and how it's played ie motion controls, tablet, or standard).

Of course it will to some extent. Your average consumer gets more and more savvy by the day, especially in today's economic climate. It's common knowledge that Sony are in major financial difficulty and this is bound to put off a good percentage of potential buyers.

Sony will likely be gone in 5 years. People want to make a safe bet and stick with Xbox.

I would suggest you ask Uncle Google to confirm your claim. I think you will find he disagrees.

Besides it's irrelevant really. The company as a whole are in the red with no sign of getting out of it in the near future.

if MS had a more powerful system they wouldn't need a huge exclusive lineup to thrive, just superior multiplats, but if the consoles are going to be pretty similar this gen then they're going to need more of an exclusive line-up... well, guess we'll have to wait and see what's announced at E3lamprey263

I think making the Xbox or PS more powerful than the other is a waste of time, third parties will build the game with the weaker consoles limitations in mind.

Only first party games would show off the extra power, just my opinion.
