This is just getting pathetic... blu-ray movie sales = ownage? Do you have any idea how much the DVD sold itself to compare to blu-ray?spinecatonWhy yes, yes I do.
And if TC bothered reading his own link he would realize it also says:
While it's not on par with the 13 million standard DVDs of THE DARK KNIGHT that were sold,
Which kind of puts the BD sales into proper perspective :)

less than 10% of total units sold were blu-ray... not impressive

sorry, 'about 10%' not 'less than'
also, why would i divide it into the number of DVD's sold and not total units? 14.7million would be the total, not 13 million. looks like your math aint so good either
And you care about this...why?
Seriosuly what possible reason could you have to be delighted that the Blu Ray version of a film sold well?
Real PS3 owners would never lower themselves by becoming "gamers". Here is what a real PS3 collection looks like http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa276/Windurst/bluray.jpgAnd you care about this...why?

For a BD to have 10% of total sales is VERY impressive when you consider that Blu-ray's marketshare is less than 5%. This is rare, though, normally it's nowhere near 10%.

this. It seems like everybody forgot about there being millions of dvd players in the world (150+ million in the US alone).
because it means blu-ray is doing well, and is here to stay, and that my ps3's built in blu-ray player won't become obsolete anytime soon...kinda like that $200 add-on hd-dvd player for 360.And you care about this...why?

What does the sale of a blu-ray movie have to do with xbox 360 vs ps3?

while that is true, its only impressive in its own context. it would be more impressive if Blu-ray actually outsells dvd.
my point: this thread is jumping the gun.

Unlike Digital Distribution, which has failed to sell a single copy of TDK in either Standard Definition or High Definition (Lite)[QUOTE="one_on_one"]Where's the ownage? The Dark Knight is a fantastic movie that sold very well on every format.
ogvampire
apparently the ownage is that the ps3 can play tdk blu-ray, while the 360 cant...so, um... yeah
Oic, but the 360 can stream high def movies and cheaper blu ray players can play TDK aswell, so yeah.
