I too hate the fact that we have to PAY for Xbox Live Gold.

I went to corner store and bought a pack of Newports, a lighter and 20z Pepsi for around 5 bucks. Yeah it was good for that moment, but what do I have to show for it? Nothing but empty calories and black lungs.

That same 5 bucks could of gave me onlineCTF in Halo, Fights in DOA, deathmatches in TF2 for 30 days. Sucks that we're paying for p2p mp we can get elsewhere for free, but at the same time I probably would of spend that same 5 bucks on something worthless.

Do I want to pay for XBL? No. Is it worth it? Yeah...

I agree completely. We consumers hate paying money for playing online, but at least the Xbox 360 has QUALITY online gameplay that is actually worth paying for. I would rather pay money for good online instead of recieving free online if its poor.

Put it this way: would you prefer a basket of rotten apples for free, orwould youtake a basket of ripe apples and pay money for it?

I totally agree with that, but xbox, and playstation had online, Gamecube didnt , so the Wii is still new to the online buisness, and they are getting prgressivly better. As for the no good online titles, well there is mario strikers which is a good online game, but besids that your right...for now, you are forgetting abut MoH h2, it will have 32 people online! that is hug for the wii that only has a few online games, as well as Brawl, that is a GREAT multiplayer game , and online makes it better.

I don't mind paying for what i get. $50/1 year of play isn't much for virtually lag free online gaming. Only game i've basically ever gotten lag in is TF2...and that's because of Valve and their lackluster coding. Hell, even TF2's searching doesn't detect all the games everytime. Sometimes you'll get 5 games and then you'll back out and do it again and you'll get 20. That's Valves fault though. I don't get lag very much in TF2 anymore since the update...but it's still there every so often.

It's a small price for what you get (providing you have even the slightest source of income). They will lower/drop the price eventually too no doubt.

One is a yearly charge of $50 and supports every Xbox Live game with virtuallyzero lag.The other is $75 for 6 months of play and it's WoW only.

They're not comparable.

You're right. However, boycotting the service due to price does not justify the principle. In fact, its hypocritical. Not paying for XBL simply because you feel you're being ripped off (although understandable) is no different from countless overprice products on the market today.

i.e. the pack of cigarettes I bought is probably worth a fraction of the amount I paid for. I shouldn't have to pay that muchbut I want them. Just like I want to play Halo online. I have no choice but to comform. Life sucks that way...
