I traded my 360 for a PS3!

I was a lemming.  I owned way too many 360 games and defended the system for the life of me on this forum.  (you can check my positing history)

Anyway, I was excited about DMC4 coming out on the 360, being a Capcom fan, and bought a used PS2 to play the older games.   I also bought Ratchet and Clank for my stepson.

Playing Ratchet and Clank was awesome.  I've been having more fun with it that any other game in a long time.  I wanted more. I saw the video for the new Ratchet and Clank for PS3.  It looked amazing.

To make a long story short, after about a day, I packed up all of my 360 items and traded it in for a PS3 and Resistance.

The PS3 network isn't nearly as exciting as Live, and the graphics currently don't look any better than the 360.  They don't look worse either.

I wish games like Lair, MGS, and Final Fantasy were out now so I could feel better about my decision.  Sony, please use Blu-Ray to give me experiences I couldn't have had on the 360.  Focus on getting some exlusives based on the PS3's strengths.

I'll wait for now, hoping for some of that PS3 potential to be unleashed, or at least the new Ratchet and Clank.

I hope you enjoy your PS3, but selling a system for another system is a horrible mistake.  I sold a few AWESOME systems to get a PS2 that I bought maybe 10 games for...sucks...TheSystemLord1

Agree fully, a few years from now that $600 will look pretty small.

I originally bought my 360 for Dead Rising, which I had already played to death.  I loved Viva Pinata for a whilebut eventually lost interest.  Gears was fun for a while but it quickly got replaced by R6: Vegas. 

 I'll probably buy R6V again.  I just hope it's a good port.

My main regret is not getting to play Mass Effect for awhile.

 I traded in everything because I couldn't justify spending $600 to myself or wife.  It'll be easier to buy a used 360 later on down the line.

If the ps3 port aint that good. why not get the pc version? Anyways, your gonna have fun cuz Lair, Calling All Cars, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and more are all coming out in 3 -5 monts time. Plus if you have an HDTV then your gonna be having a blast watching blu-ray movies (casino royal, spiderman3, pirates of the carib)

I'd like to say I was always pretty balanced but I definitely went super lemming for a while.  I enjoyed my PS1 but also had an N64 and Saturn.  I stopped playing video games during last generation but eventually had a Gamecube and Xbox.

The things that swayed my purchase for those wondering, besides Ratchet and Clank.... I needed to buy a wireless network adapter for my 360.  I didn't want to.  I also want to own HD movies.  I think Blu-ray is a better investment.  With that said, I don't have the money for a good hd tv now.

Most XBOX 360 owners trash the PS3 because they're afraid that they invested the wrong console. You did the right thing, don't worry.

Looking at upcoming games, I wanted Ratchet and Clank more than Mass Effect.   I'm not saying it'll be a better game for everyone, but it most likely will be for my gaming tastes. The rest of the games I want seem to be coming out on both systems.

For those doubting that I owned a 360.  Seeing my gamercard is actually a little sad.

All he's got to do is download an OS on his PS3 and run those games on a 360 emulator, there will be one by the time they come out ont he market :P.

When paying for school loans, rent, insurance, groceries and saving to eventually own a home, I can only justify spending so much money and time to video games.  That's why I had given up on this forum for a while.  I'm back here tonight to kind of mourn.  It's hard because most of the good games out on PS3 right now, I've already had the chance to play.

I was sort of in the same boat. Only I owned a PS3 before the Xbox 360. Still have the PS3, but prefer the Xbox 360.

For example, I currently own 0 PS3 titles. I bought RFOM, beat it, and sold it on ebay. Honestly, I wasn't impressed with the game at all (analog sticks on PS3 controller are also atrocious for FPS and I would never buy another one the console again). I am a PC gamer at heart though so making FPS's work on a console is a HUGE achievement in my mind. So far the Xbox 360 is the only console that has gotten the FPS genere down (Halo 1/2, RB6:V). 

Right now my PS3 is a glorified movie player. I think the system has a lot of potential though. I am not excited for lair like some fanboys on here. While the graphics look good the gameplay looks repetitive, tedious, and unfun.

Anyhow, I would have saved money and waited it out for a few months. Not to call you a liar, but, why would you buy a PS3 now? You have no hdtv so it's obviously not for blueray. The library sucks at the moment. I just don't get it?

I wouldn't have sold your 360, but enjoy your PS3 none the less.. Hope you don't regret it.

I've been selling a lot of things as part of spring cleaning, getting some actual savings, and the 360 was on the list.  When trying to sell it for needed money online, I wasn't getting great offers. 

I knew I wanted a PS3 at some point, and having asked about a few larger items, I thought I would have enough to get an even trade.  It ended up paying $15 out of pocket for component cables by the end of things.  They wouldn't take my 360 racing wheel so I'll end up selling that on ebay.

 The PS3 feels like it has a lot less wires though, (no brick, no ethernet) so it was worth it just to make things look neater.  I'm getting old.

Not to attack you but I also have a school loan, a mortgage, car insurance, etc.. You don't seem like someone who knows how to budget their money very well. Maybe you should have your wife handle your finances?

You traded in, over 1,000 dollars worth of games / hardware (I assume it was at least this much to get yourself a PS3 at no cost). In return, you got a 600 dollar console. That's a 400 dollar loss. Your reasoning is the anticipiated release of one title?

I'm sorry, but maybe you should'nt be buying ANYTHING. If you have that many bills and obligations and cant afford to buy a PS3 straight up it tells me two things. #1, You're in debt over your eyballs. #2. You should'nt be saving to own a home because you will end up in foreclosure.

 I'm surprised your wife puts up with your crap. If I was her, and I saw you spend a grand on video games only to turn around an get slammed at least 400 dollars I'd want a divorce. Basically, it's a never ending cycle. How much money are you going to rack up on the PS3 before you decide that you wanted an Xbox 360 instead?
