I want a real debate over which will be better in your opinions, gears 2 or...

resistance 2? I really can't decide which I want more, but i'll probably pick em both up :D

i just want to know what people think about this

Resistance 2 for me it looks like it is really gonna break the mold of the original and do things that have never been seen before. i feel like gears might be the halo 1.5 of this generationAnimal-Mother

Gears of War was better than Resistance.

So developers would have to improve Resistance 2 in almost every conceivable way, considering Gears of War 2 will be improved over it's predecessor.

I really don't see Resistance improving SO much, that it offers more than what Gears of War 2 will.

Based on what we know I'm looking forward to Resistance 2 the most. In my eyes it was Halo3>Resistance>Gears.

Resistance had the best SP of the 3 and now that it has 2 campaign modes and its online is being pimped up I can see it becoming my favorite shooter on consoles this gen :D

Multiplayer: No sniper active downs, no god mode during a chainsaw, shotgun tweaks for the better, slow down running when shot at, chainsaw duels, execution variety, more multiplayer modes, free-roam spectator camera, online party system, 5vs5, Horde!!!!.

SP: More enemies onscreen, weapon tweaks, new weapons, new enemies, bigger scale, better colors (more then just grey), story improvement, audio upgrade, texture upgrade.

i dont know i feel like everyones hyping it like the second coming of christ, like halo 2 was hyped and despite it was still a good game with new features it still lacked something, i feel gears is almost doing the same thing as halo 2 did, not that it wont be a great game, i mean im still buying it, but i feel people will still be uber disapointed in some way

the hype gears of war 2 is getting is nothing compared to halo'2s... not even close.

i've seen people overhype games all the time around here and they are always the ones that come back posting that something was "missing" from the game. gears of war 2 is offering everything i wanted in the first game and more which is all i need.

as my other post said, there are plenty new modes.

And just like 2006, quantity /= quality. Gears multiplayer was enjoyed by far more and was just as intense, if not more then resistence 1.

08 will be a repeat, count on it.

and it doesn't matter if resistance 2 has 60 player matches (im excited for them!) if it isn't as fun as gears of war's 10 player matches

The general consensus for Gears 2 is a 9.5....due to the 0.5 scoring system.

I don't care if it gets a 6.0, I know I'll like Little Big Planet more then Resistance 2 and Gears 2 combined.

yup..for afew weeks cows will forget 8.5 is actually a great score and trash gears of war 2 and call it a major flop.

and then you will notice threads popping up asking cows if they truly feel 8.5 is a bad score and if they hate 98% of the games currently on the ps3.

Your right about LBP being a wild card. Spore was 5 small games packed into one. LBP is like an ever expanding world of levels to play. It will be a strange game to review.

I dont know which will be better to be honest. The original Gears was better than Resistance, but Resistance was a launch title and was Insomniac's first outing on the PS3.

I look forward to Resistance 2 more simply because it will be so much more improved over the first. Insomniac has made 3 games (including Quest for Booty) on the PS3 since then. I expect Gears 2 to look and play much like the first, which isnt a bad thing at all, but I expect Resistance 2 to be much more improved and advanced than the first.

With that said, I cant wait for both.
