I want an honest opinion about GEOW

Probably 9.5.

The pc version is an horrible port of a stupid repetitive game, but still got a 9.0. So I guess the ps3 will have the 9.5 score because of the lower standar in console review.

Hmm... that seems to be quite a big stretch there. Gears of War was decent but I wouldn't call it great. It's a very forgettable experience.

I still play the damn game. But If it was on PS3 I probably wouldn't get a chance to play it. I've only played a PS3 someone bought once. And all I played... CoD4. All he had were multiplats except Resistance.waynehead895

Disagree Completely. Entirely memorable for me, and ive played through it about 5 times.

I think it would've been downgraded and the sixaxis would've been horrible. Imagine throwing a grenade with the sixaxis, oh wait, they did that in Uncharted.

For me, I really couldn't find what was so special about the game when I played through its campaign. It got a bit repetitive at times and I wish that you could've done more than just fighting on foot. Sure there was a vehicle part of the game that lasted around 5-10 minutes but it would've been a lot more fun if there were more diverse things to do. The game also features a pretty punishing difficulty in which I liked in the until I got to general RAMM (the end) and it just started to become severely frustrating. I also find the level design to be very boring and it you were always fighting on the streets except for the little time you're underground. The story was awful, and the characters I just couldn't find to be likeable because they're wasn't any personality revealed in any of them except for Cole probably and he got pretty annoying throughout the campaign. It was also pretty short.

But despite all this, it had a great musical score, both an artisic and technical achievement, and the SP and MP were fun overall while it lasted. But there's nothing in this game that makes it one of the best action games ever.

9.0 in my opinion.

Its fun - especially in co-op, multiplayer is fun, but its nothing groundbreaking enough to break a 9.5.

Gears is a great game, and I don't get what you have against it. You're probably the kind of person who takes any game that receives lots of hype and hates it to be "cool nonconformist." yeah, you're so cool because you hate any popular games. Awesome dude!

I second that. His sig also says that HL2 sucked basically because of "poor shooting mechanics". Hmm... And the funniest part is he has a CoD avatar. Like that isn't one of the biggest casual games on the market right now. Hypocrites...

I never really got all of the hype for GeoW. It's good but it's not like awe inspiring great IMO. The SP is great but quite short and I'm not really a fan of the MP.

lets say geow never came out for x360 and it was about to come out exclusively on ps3, what score do you think it would get?Frier6000

If it came out back when it first came out? I'm guessing the same score, a 9.6. I don't see why not really, though I thought the game was a little lacking. Gameplay was good and supposedly the online was good, but the story was just utter crap and it kinda ruined the game for me. I don't think I can ever get over how bad Epic is at telling a good story. Its evident in UT3 and Gears; and I don't care if they are played mainly for the multiplayer. At least TRY to write something decent.

This game has the most intense sniper battles I've ever seen in a game. It can get really hair-raising and interesting.

Maybe there's a better one out there, I'd like to hear its name.

its not really that good, just shot take cover over and over again. r6v has a much much better cover system and geow graphics aren't anything special, it can't even touch quake 4's textures

advanced people? it not a very advanced shooter. take cover shot take cover shot, no tatices what so ever, played the first few levels you've seen everything it has to offer. its a poor mans r6v. r6v just does everything much better, the team comands actully does something, you can tell your team to attack and has much beter ai.

geow is one of the most overated games ever

Well the PC version is superior to 360 version. Better textures, higher resolutions and added content. You can play with 360 gamepad or KB/M. It is also cheaper. It scored 9, thats 0.5 less than 360.

I agree too. On my PC the game ran without a hitch and was buttery smooth with everything maxed out.

Now, for the opinion of Gears of War. I initially hated on this game something fierce. But after starting it over several time and adjusting the brightness up all the way, my opinion began to change. Also this is one game that definetely benefited from controller use.

After getting over my initial opinion of it being a horrible game, and giving it a third or fourth chance, the game finally endeared itself to me. For a PC game, I'd give it about an 8.5.
