I want the 360 to succeed b/c i own the consolesunnystarz
 Last time I checked, 360 is succeeding at the present time. But with recent announcements such as the Elite, I'm starting to question MS methods of pleasing the consumer. If Sony has something big to show off or announce, this is probaby the best time for it.

I think this is the most honesty I have seen in SW. Alot of the threads that say "PS3 gonna flop", "Sony lies again", or any other of those fun bashing titles really should be honest with themselves and title thier threads the same as this one.
Whether it succeeds or not, you're still going to get quality games for it. PS2 absolutely dominated last generation, but XBOX and GC still had tonnes of great games, many of which are exclusive.

I agree, in my opinion, GC had the best games last gen but PS2 wasn't far behind. I played PC so xbox really didn't cut it for me.

Elite isn't a bad idea. It's for the newcomers. They can either get the Premium for $400 or save some extra cash and get the 120GB hard drive and HDMI ports for another $90, half the price of the standalone unit. That's pleasing the consumer. I haven't bought a 360 yet, and I must say, I'm pleased that I get the choice to save $90 on the hard drive if I want.

Competition is a good thing for us gamers. However, i have no next gen system as of yet and am kind of sitting on the sidelines til the picture gets a little clearer.
