I was going to trade in my ps4 for a pro today, now i'm not so sure.

Have about a 140 quid on a gamestop card, and they're taking my ps4 for 180. Only costing me 80 cash for the pro. But i'm having serious concerns with these impressions, with some games actually running worse on the pro.

I have a 4K tv (no HDR), it it actually worth it for upcoming games?

I have a ps4, but I'm gonna wait and buy a Scorpio. 4k gaming with a broader spectrum of games (owning both consoles). I don't want to give Sony more money with a perfectly working ps4.

You shouldn't judge consoles on early impressions. The Xbox One and PS4's early games looked like high res last gen games at launch and struggled to show anything really impressive for quite a while.

Just wait, surely they'll make different editions of the Pro. Could be in several months, it'll be $350, have a 1TB HDD, a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive, a bigger fan that's quieter because it can move slower and expel same amount of heat, and doesn't look like a Big Mac and have a more symmetrical look to it. Just keep your current one, you can still play games on it.

If System Wars is your only source of information, you're gonna have a hard time. I went ahead and got a Pro this weekend and so far it's been great even with a 1080p tv.

System Wars is just a battlefield with partisan hacks. Whatever problems games are having will be patched in fairly quick order. We are talking about bugs in game programming as opposed to deficiency in hardware design.

I would do it bro, it seems you're on the fence, but in reality you really want one. Just go for it, with time the minor issues will be fixed...I'm not sure about the 4K without HDR though, I'm sure the game should will still look good regardless, but with an HDR set, the colors will pop more...

I've been pro-PC, pro-Playstation, pro-Nintendo. . . I take very real issue with the XBox, but Microsoft as a company, is a highly progressive tech innovator. As a gamer, I was highly upset with how they came into this generation with the XBox, and right when I wanted to get behind it they decided that they would no longer invest in exclusives for the platform. The only leverage they have to keep games off competing platforms is to leverage the Windows Store at this point. Long story short, it's not like I look at the brand on the box and flip my shit over it like you people do about Sony. It's not the same stink, but it's all you know what to paint people with because it is all you know. It's all you understand.

Don't do it. The original PS4 is reliable, it works, and plays all the same games. The changes in the Pro are minimal at best. Not worth the risk.

Don't. The fact that your TV has no HDR is even more of a deal breaker. To people not reading, he'd be giving his 140 pounds gift card, his PS4 and add 80 pounds on top to get a bump in resolution, worse performance and no HDR. DO NOT upgrade at the moment. Totally not worth it.

I've always been a Pro-Nintendo, Playstation & Xbox gamer. I play games on all consoles, it never mattered to me at all about what I play games on so I don't know where you getting this "all I know" speech from. Do I have issues with this consoles, of course I do cause none of them are perfect but I support them for giving us gamers games to play. I never have or ever will wrap my brain around the fanboy nonsense that goes on in here, which I do see you engage in also. your trade in value for the ps4 will probably go down as time goes on, so that's a tough one. Also, although games can run worse on the pro, I would assume that that problem will diminish over time. It is a new piece of hardware, and even if it is similar to the ps4 it will still take time for devs to totally master it I would think. At the very least I would think all games would allow you to lower the resolution a bit and get more frames.

I'm not a fan of the pro, but if you already have a bunch of ps4 games and can upgrade for that money, it seems okay

It simply means rendering at a higher resolution than the display, and letting that get down-scaled to the native display resolution. The primary purpose is anti-aliasing

If we were talking full price for the Pro, then not worth it with the current issues it's having. But at $80, might not be a bad idea to get it now and have it ready for when the problems are eventually resolved.

Those tales have been greatly exaggerated. Even Skyrim runs perfectly fine. And even without HDR, I love how it upscales to 4K even on unpatched games. Dew it.

For £80 I think I would gamble and think Sony will resolve (some of) the problems. It's ridiculous that some games play worse at 1080p resolution on the pro atm (due to forced supersampling) and there just seems to be stupid uses of the extra power all around.

I do think Sony will at least make sure games play as good on the pro as regular at 1080p, otherwise it's just embarrasing for the brand.

PlayStation Pro is not worth it at launch. Nov 10th 2016. But eventually it will be worth it. From now on all PS4 games released will work with the PS4 pro. Eventually 4K TVs will come down in price. But right now only a handful of games will be PS4 Pro ready.

So if you want to get a PS4 Pro you should do it. You can get on for $80.00 with a $140.00 Gift Card and $180.00 regular PS4 trade in.

I bought a PlayStation 4 Pro on Nov 10th 2016 and also kept my launch PlayStation 4 from way back in November 22nd 2013.

So if you really want a PlayStation 4 Pro than get one. From now on all PS4 games released will have "PS4 Pro mode enabled"

I just got mine today. I was going back and fourth, then I Seen I could get it at Target for like $60 off, so I went ahead and bought the pro, Amazon gave me like $145 for my old PS4. Played Ratchet and Clank, looks twice as good, was so worth it.

Or you can use that gift card to get a couple new games.

Shittily optimized games from Bethesda and Ubisoft shouldn't be a concern. If that's a problem for you then you should stay faaaar away from PC gaming.

Go for it because the original PS4 trade in price will tank even more. You should see if you could sell it yourself to get more money though.

Mmm I agree with what you're trying to say to be honest, but not ALL cows are the same, just like I don't picture ALL lemmings to be the same. I like Sony for certain things that it has done, and the same goes for Microsoft, & Nintendo. I started with Nintendo, moved towards Playstation and was stuck with Playstation and a bit of PC gaming on the side with Warcraft III, Descent, Diablo II. Playstation 3 left a bad taste for me, with the initial pricing, and other stuff along the way, but I still managed to enjoy a few gems that console offered me. I skipped out on the original Xbox, and finally bought an Xbox 360 and I loved it, friends all had one and the games it offered were great.

System Wars here, I like to poke fun, I like to start shit, but some people here, a few honestly are clinically insane...lol. This war between resolutions and the Xbox One versus Playstation 4. You would think some of these people were actually getting paid to write all this, and walls of texts at it as well; crazy. All in all for me, I just stick with my close friends and play with them; whatever console that may be. That's one of my first priorities in picking a console, I feel a game may be trash, but playing with friends, no matter the game can be crazy fun and funny as hell...lol.

I own no console at the moment, on that PC gaming phase at the moment, and have been for a while, since I've been waiting this generation out for consoles, I've owned all 3 in the past (PS4, Wii U, & Xbox One) but now I want to pick one up, change phase for myself, and dive into some single-player games, earn some achievements/trophies, and just take a break from PC gaming for a bit. Just trying to see which console to get. Sony has some good games coming up, and I still want to give Horizon III & Gears 4 a go, so we'll see how it goes. Wasn't expecting to write this much...lol
