I was upset about not having a race game on PS4 until..............

Downloaded Drive Club. After reading another good review for another Forza game I decided I had no choice but to download Drive Club. I was really surprised how good of a game this is. I cannot compare it to Forza but by scores alone Forza is the clear winner. That being said did Drive Club improve over time? Seems like a solid 8-9 to me! I wish you could modify the cars but other than that I am really enjoying it.

Well you came in with low expectations and it turns out 5Club is better than you thought. It's still shit in the grand scheme of things.

I love it so much. I think it needs to be given another chance by people. It's had a ton of updates since it first got reviewed.

@Juub1990: Is it. That is what I was trying to figure out. It seems very good and nowhere near shit. Was this game "missing" alot of features during the review period. I am surprised how good and complete it seems. Would it score better if it were reviewed today.

Poor man's Forza Horizon

I'm just joking I never played it lol. Well serves them right for coming out with an incomplete game. What's with devs rolling out features over several months on barebone games? It hurts more than it helps. Happened with Halo 5, Street Fighter V, Drive Club...

I actually really like Drive Club...

Driveclub was an okay game but it ain't nothing special other then it's weather effects. Driveclub was supposed to be part of PS+ freebie game until it got delayed for so long, it blew up Sony's face when it got delayed.

Comparing Driveclub to Forza games is comparing apples/oranges.

Its alright, but you can play TrackMania Turbo or the new NFS are pretty good racing games.

The handling in Driveclub is sooooo weird. I couldn't get used to it. And the roads seem oddly narrow. Like 2 cars cannot drive side by side narrow.

PS4 doesn't have racers?

I played some of it at my friends house. It wasnt as bad as critics made it out to be but I got the feeling it would get tiresome really fast. Hell racing games get boring really fast for me. Its a dying genre that has evolved very little throughout the years with the exception of, maybe, rally games cause those seem to require more technical driving...

No soul. Absolutely fails at celebrating car culture or generate any form of enthusiasm towards the fact that you are racing gorgeous, expensive machines. Dogshit soundtrack, sleep inducing menus/UI.

Bought it twice to give it another chance. Not worth the 10 bucks I paid for it unless I look at it as a tech demo to wow friends... and then put it at the back of the shelf again.

Now go and play an actual good racing game and you will see the glaring difference. DriveClub is a bad game. Even omitting all of the launch problems the game itself is lacking in things like controls, physics, customization, tracks.

Honestly the only thing it has going for it is eye candy.

You'd be better off getting NFS or even The Crew.

Server issues were why it got bad review scores. Now that those problems are fixed it's actually a good racing game. Kinda like MCC

Also it had a serious lack of content with many features 'to come' after it had already received numerous delays.

As a racing game fan myself i couldn't give Sony my money with the way they have handled the only racing game (soonish to be games on the PS4) DC was a total f**k up by Sony from start to finish with the way they represented the game on the PS4, and now they've pulled GT Sport from a release date to "sometime"in 2017.

Hopefully Sony gets it's s**t together and make some decent racing games for it's racing game fans. Because even DC sold 2 million copies at last count, and the highest selling franchise Sony has is still Gran Turismo, but it feels like Sony themselves is all for story driven games at the moment.

Driveclub is actually fun but Forza Horizon 3 I can play for hours on end.

Only racing game in a long time to do that for me....including Dirt Rally, but that bc Dirt Rally is more intense.

Sure it looks better than forza(on x1 that is) but the gameplay is just too choppy for my tastes.

It's a really good game. Buddy of mine even went out and bought a PS4 after playing it at my house.

Probably would get a better racing experience out of Grand Theft Auto 5 or one of the Need For Speed Games on Ps4.

But you should look into getting a PC and/or Xbox One to experience Forza Horizon 3. The amount of content packed into the game is ridiculous. Type of game that appeals to people not generally into racing games.

@dante1972: besides customization , some realistic turning and crashing. Forza has nothing on drive club gameplay wise

DriveFlop is a good game for the PSbore. It's one of the best racers on PS in a long time and I recommend it.

There's Project Cars, that's a proper game.

It would have been a great game, but it's a shit storm of a bug fest. That is why they are already make ProjectCars 2...which is to fix all the bugs.
