I took a chance and got a 360, less than a year ago. It is a good system, with good games, but the hardware is crap. I know MS has acknowledged it's problems, but this in unacceptable. I have mainly delt with Nintendo in the past, and have never had problems like this. Now I see people who have had to send their 360s in2 to 3 times.I have really lost all confidence in the 360 and it's like I don't even want it anymore.I feel like it is an inferior piece of crap.

I was going to sell my 360, then when microsoft said that every console had somthing wrong with it. And they would at some point die, thats when I sold the thing as fast as possible. I dont think I will ever buy a microsoft console again. PC all the way! Yea, I payed for vista, but thats all the money they get from me.
yeah thats why i dont own a 360 yet. good thing ull get urs fixed for free. if i were ied wait till they bring out the new 360s then send it in so u can get a new one with hdmi port ect

Microsoft hasn't acknowledged the problem. Things been out for nearly 3 years, and NOW they're just starting a warrenty. Peter Moore even said "it's just a vocal minority, no need for a recall". And I don't think the new falcon (65mn chips) will help either, because it only reduces heat (360 still has a crap ventilation system). And, the 360 has alot of other problems with it.
All I know is when I pick one up past xmas time it shouldn't have these problems. After playing the Wii since launch I can't wait for games like Mass Effect, the new 1UP preview made me nerdgasm at highly dangerous levels.

You're kidding right? nope, and I am not some rug rat who fills his 360 with dust and leaves it under a blanket so it can melt. I took awesome care of my 360's. Kept them on brio (wooden toy train tracks) so they got great ventilation. Plus I am in Canada its hardly scotching hot up here. The only thing that has kept me from burning down Micrsofts head Quarters is my love for Halo.

Honestly I hate Microsoft and it never had anything to do with gaming, well Windows, its such a POS compared to other operating systems. If xbox didn't have such good games coming out aka Mass Effect and Lost Obyssey I wouldn't own an Xbox.
I really could care less about Ms's practices as long as I continue to get great games.... I would be pretty pissed if my 360 broke, but thats only b/c I enjoy it so much.... Companies are controlled by humans, and where there are humans, there are going to be screw ups....
A lot of people felt the same about Sony after buying a PS2. ;)

and when I look back that's what really made me switch to pc gaming, $180nzd for a laser was a joke but I payed it. pcs has no one controlling it, hdds have 5 year warrenties, cpus 3 year as with m/b and many gpus, some ram has lifetime warrenty

it breaks more than the other system cuz people are playing alot of games. thats alot of wear and tear! This fall gonna be a hard one for the 360, to many games!

So may I assume you also don't trust Sony anymore who had PS2 DRE problems and only recognized them after going to court for them?
As much as people wanna bash MS they are taking over a Billion in charges to makes things right. Offering a huge warranty and installing new ways to eliminate or significantly reduce the failure rate. And all of this before they were sued first.
So if you wanna never trust MS then also never trust Sony

And, the 360 has alot of other problems with it. 1- 2 years not 3. it came out in november 05. november 06 was the 1 year mark. and november 07 is the 2 year mark. 2- THe main problem is the RROD 3- THey are adding a new heat sink to be extra careful, that warrenty came out a year and a half after launch. 4- Having a new chip that gives off way less heat, has an extra heatsink reduces the red ring of death by alot. 5- It is the vocal minority why should there be a recall. when the majority have 360s that work fine and the new more improved models are on the way, with a 3 year warrenty option that covers the main hardware flaw.
DVD drive, etc isnt a common problem that happens way to much, if anything that is usually something user related.
A lot of people felt the same about Sony after buying a PS2. ;)

Thing is the ps2's died after 4 years and onward... and i got mine to die on me my fifth year of owning it and i had it repaired and shipped to me for free :D
Redesigned console, 1yr warranty covers everything, it used to be 3 months. 3 yr warranty for the Red Lights. Redesigned models coming out. Cheaper console in stores now. And a great games library this year. And an awesome line up thats yet to be revealed for 2008 and 2009.
I guess cows and sheep might want to thank MS for their little slip up because if it didn't happen MS would be crushing the competition.
