Personally I want the Xbox 360 in the console war, but I don't want Microsoft in the console war. If that makes sense.

Urrm how do you figure that out, it was slightly less powerful than PS2, which is to be expected considering it came out a year or so earlier. It had internet straight out of the box, the controllers weren't the best, but there was nothing wrong with the system itself.

What was kind of an interesting idea, but never developed was the memory cards. You could play mini games on these that will later be uploaded to the corresponding game and unlock goodies for you. Not many games used it, but the idea was interesting. Also, let us never forget Shenmue FTW!!

Nah the Sega Dreamcast was a beautiful console. Just look at it.

Best looking console for it's time in my honest opinion. If you ment crap as in hardware specs. I dunno, it certainly pushed out some games with great graphics like Shenmue.

and yes some games were completly awsome, it would even been better if sega made those games for any other console.

Actually, I'm wondering you actually played online with it. It was impossible for the cable to disconnect unless you messed up yourself.

I've played a lot of games online with the Dreamcast: Chu-Chu Rocket, Alien Front, PSO ver.1&2, Daytona USA, Outtrigger etc. and even with my 56k connection the experience was nearly perfect. For it's time, the online function was a marvel.

And they ported PSO, because of it's popularity, not because of it's online performance, that was night flawless.

Do we really need another PC like medium in the form of a console? The Xbox isn't doing anything original. Sega's retired Dreamcast was producing great titles and original concepts when it was in its prime, where now the Xbox is taking the already established PC medium and trying to make a quick buck from console gamers. The result is the same PC games being ported to the Xbox with very little exclusives and unoriginal ideas. I think that is why its tanking in sales and popularity now. The control was total crap. Totally unfit for the games the system was aimed for. It lacked 2 buttons and had awful ergonomics and a bad high d-pad.

naw, they deserved to bow out. Could you image how much worse they add ons would be if sega was still in the consol biz? The 360 is bad about extra useless junk, but they don't hold a flame to the dumb stuff sega dropped out. Besides do you think they would be around if Playstation didin't step up and show Nintendo and Sega how to really run in a consol race?

if 360 is like pc then so is ps3 :| xbox introduced hard drive in consoles, xbox live, 360 took xbox live 10 steps further, has qualtiy games + so many things, the wii has taken an approach where gaming will die and cheap games will be made for old people who will be dead the next day

More successful than the Virtual Boy and N64 DD together yes, and than any other CD-based system of it's generation.

funny enough the dreamcast had a handfull of unique and awsome games, but the console itself was just crap.

So just like the 360. Great games, but crap console.

lol that made me chuckle a little.

I miss Powerstone, Project Justice, Marvel vs Capcom, Street Fighter, SNK vs Capcom, Sonic, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Skie of Arcadia, PSO, Grandia II,etc, well you get the piont.

The Dreamcast was a beast in the fighter area. I still play mine to this day. Great console. The x box controller looked just like a Dreamcast controller

funny enough the dreamcast had a handfull of unique and awsome games, but the console itself was just crap.

Urrm how do you figure that out, it was slightly less powerful than PS2, which is to be expected considering it came out a year or so earlier. It had internet straight out of the box, the controllers weren't the best, but there was nothing wrong with the system itself.

Nope, unless you can prove to me the ps2 was more powerful system ill believe you, but the dreamcast was still a powerful system than the ps2.

PS2 was more powerful. Dreamcast was a great system with an even better name, but it came out a little too near to PS2, so it couldnt capitalize.
