I wonder if IGN seen the wrong Halo 3 Vid

being a pc gamer, i was not impressed with the beta footage i have seen recently, and i know alot of halo fans are damage controlling 24/7 ever since the videos released. but IGN also felt that the graphics where not impressive.

4 months ago all i heard from halo fans is how much Halo 3 is going to own Gears on graphics. but now that we have seen the graphics, all the halo fans changed their mind  and say graphics doesnt matter any more.  personally i feel gears of war is going to be the best looking game for the console for a long time. only games that i think will either be even or better looking then gears this year wiill be Mass Effect, BioShock, UT3, Lair, and heavenly sword , oh this is console btw. PC is a whole different story :P cough cough crysis.

Gears looked great in multi because the maps were small and its a small squad vs small squad online.  Halo 3 will have better looking visuals in the campaign, you cant have 12 players running around in pretty huge maps and be stable 100% of the time.  These systems may have really good hardware this time around but they still have a limit.

IGN is wrong then. I agree with Gamespot and 1up that the games looks good for a beta build.

1up+GS > IGN

They wont improve it much ;)

There wont be any huge improvments, yes they can get better, but it wont be by as much as Halo fans make it out to be, they are in beta, huge improvement is not gonna happen.

Bioware talks about the development process for the 360, and becaue of the 360's development kits design 360 games will almost always improve graphically the closer the game gets to completion vs. having things like downgrades. Add into that the fact that Bungie is a top notch developer making the 360's flagship title and I think you'd have to be crazy to think Halo 3 won't be at the very least as good looking as gears.

im sorry but they wont,  if you have played many beta's  the graphics are pretty much the same in the final build, with the only differences of Frame rate and stuff. being improved/

For the most part, your right. In this case, if you have followed the weekly updates then you will know that there are elements that they are working on that are not in the game as we have saw it recently. Such as physics driven folliage & birds both of which will react to their surroundings: Gunfire, explosions etc; It says that smoke from explosions, sand, dirt etc; will effect how the sky looks to create the haze like effects. I was'nt sure if it was the MP or SP they were refering to, but rest assure Halo 3 as we know it will look different in some respects upon release.

GS? is always positive with previews, they murder the game when it comes out. But GS kinda overrates Halo games.

You cannot "graphically superiorate" a generic looking model.

Look at Gears or Kilzone 2 (from the trailer), you see human.  Look at Halo 3, you see one of George Lucas' stormtroopers.

Wrong. Even Teamxbox said that they don't expect there to be much upgrade in the visuals in regards to the multiplayer version of the game.. They said visually, what we see it pretty much what we are going to get, with an addition of a few bells and whistles. Although I'm a lemming, I'm an honest one and I call them as I see them. I think the consensus from people who have actually PLAYED the game is that althought the visuals look good, they are infact a bit underwhelming.

I for one think this sad and I feel as if we could have had soooo much more. I don't understand why we can't have BOTH amazing gameplay as well as visuals. The xbox360 is an amazing powerful system and I for one don't think there is any valide excuse for not makeing this game look incredible. I really think Bungie is being forced to rush this game in time for the Holidays and in the process are taking short cuts when it comes to the visuals.

With that being said, I think the gameplay is looking pretty tight. However, the one thing that really bothers me is the 16 player max per game. I just don't see why they couldnt have at least icreased it a bit so that we could really have fun on the bigger maps. Even gamespot made a comment about how the bigger map in the bets seemed to take way to long to play even with 16 people playing. With the visuals not looking all that great thus giving the xbox360 left over power, I don't there is any valide excuse for not having the ability or option of having more players on screen.

How about you cry a little more about it? Don't blame everyone else for how poorly Halo 3 is looking, blame the developers.
