Well, unless I didn't like you of course. But I just finished playing the Mortal Kombat demo and I have to say....I might trade in my copy of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 for it. The combat was just so satisfying and doing th fatalities isn't as hard as it used to be.

I'm not saying Mortal Kombat will get a higher score but I certainly think it will sell more. And since the PS3 version has Kratos, I already think it'll be the better version.

What say you, System Wars? Is Mortal Kombat > Marvel vs Capcom?

Capcom fighting games blow, so the probability of MK being better is high.

How come most high profile games that get banned in Australia turn out to be good?

I thought the Mortal Kombat demo was sweet. It was basically just like I remember playing it in the arcades... only prettier and, shockingly, more brutal.

Not big into fighting games these days though, otherwise I'd pick it up. Still, it's nice to see a good MK come out.

To get JCs X-ray, it is a counter, it only works if your enemy hits you, its not an actual attack like the other X-rays.

Maybe. I've always enjoyed mindless fighting games with no skill involved, like SC and MK. I leave the challenging fighters (like SF) to the pros.

ehhh, but mortal combat has that anyone can pick up the sticks and play it fairly well thing to it, games like streetfighter and marvel vs capcom involves you actually sitting down and training and training. i played with my gf in the mortal combat demo and she almost beat me a couple of times "she has no videogame experience except the wii and ds" but we play marvel vs capcom and i own her without trying because i knew what i was doing.

...do you suck? :P. I can see a lot of depth in MK. Maybe it is easier to get into than something like MvC, but that doesnt mean there is no skill and that there isnt a lot to be learned and mastered.

I feel the same way. Mortal Kombat has returned to it's roots. This is one of my favorite fighting games ever and that's just based off the demo. I've been playing the demo with my bro's nonstop for 3 days now. MvC3 doesn't feel nearly as great.

It's pretty much the opposite for me. Mvc3 took no skill for me. I beat Galactus on my first try playing the game on hard. It's more of a button masher than Mortal Kombat. I think Mortal Kombat 9 takes more skill. A button masher is the last thing Mortal Kombat is.

i never said there was no skill, of course their is skill in mortal combat, i'm just saying mortal combat is more user friendly then marvel vs capcom is.

what? i'm talking about playing online, Galactus isn't even a challenge all your doing is blocking and having your partner assists when he grabs you. Also when have boss fights ever been hard in fighting games?.. play online and say mvc3 takes no skill

Well if I recall (this was awhile ago...a long while) correctly, the final 2 bosses in UMK3 were really hard (Mataro and Shao Kahn).

When did skill = overly complex game mechanics? I'd call that tolerance or masochism.

Mortal Kombat definitely takes some skill. I mean sure you don't see any Mortal Kombat Tournaments but trying to climb that ladder and defeat Shao Khan is no easy feat.

Absolutely, I'ev always preferred MK over practically any other fighter.

It's like pitting GoW against NG or Bayonetta. There's depth to be discussed but fun is another matter.

Mortal Kombat is going to destroy MVC3. MVC3 is unfinished, broken, and unbalanced whereas MK looks to be one of the most content filled fighters ever created.

I'll probably trade in another game. I feel like i'll regret it if i trade in MVC3 :P
