As pretty as those graphics are, the Carmageddon mod will always be my favorite because of the lulz!

I might. I prefer smaller, focused GTA games (Vice City, 3, or 4) rather than the ridiculously huge San Andreas style. GTAV looks good and all, but personally I just find the scope of it to be somewhat unappealling.

After the great work modders did with GTA IV, I wonder if R* will be more open towards the modding community when GTA V hits the PC...

I don't really know if I like new versions of Icenhancer, they keep just getting more and more saturated while icelaglace tries to downgrade the quality so it can accomadate lower-end PCs. There are better ENB presets out there IMO

i agree, icenhancer is total ass.  Not only that, but his screens arent a testament to his actual mod.  The screens only look like they do becuase it has other mods separate from that mod (like new cars, new textures and building faces, etc.) that make it look like it does.  When you get icenhancer on your game, it looks nothing like the screens.  It's so buggy much of the environment breaks at different camera angles and the lighting is ruined, especially in cutscenes.  It's only good for these promotional screencaps and nothing more.

That's actually disappointing to a casual mod user like me.

The Fallout games for instance are pretty much designed so I can instantly find and download mods with no issue.

For GTA IV, I still have to manually install these mods, it's much harder to find mods I really want that work well with the game (like ones that add more content instead of simply replacing existing content), and I can't go online with many of them due to the restrictions imposed.

But it really says something about how popular the game is for modders to keep on trucking.

The problem is that people are making amazing mods for a fundamentaly broken game. The vanilla game itself doesnt look all that great, but its so terrible optimized that even some of the best rigs are suffering terrible FPS in some sections. Its really quite sad. Like this has to be the most halfassed port job I have ever seen. At least with the Dark Souls port, the game has stable FPSII_Seraphim_II

 Yes, it really is that bad. And I know because im currently playing through it right now. I even have MSI Afterburner set up to check my stats, and for some reason the game refuses to utilize more than 60% of my GPU. It really is that bad. My frame rate fluctuates from between 60 and 30 and these fluctuations are very noticeable and jarring. And no its not my rig. Ive tried it on my laptop (i7 3630QM, 12GB DDR3, ATI 7970m, Win7) and on my lil brother's desktop (he has a GTX680) and still the performance is highly variable with random and completely unpredictable frame rate drops.

That was before the patches. Yes, it's still unoptimized, but it now runs much better than how it did on release.harry_james_pot

Yeah it runs much better than on release, but it still runs pretty crappy. A turd on the ground or a turd wrapped in a bow on a platter is still a turd. The actual game itself is not bad. Im actually quite enjoying it more than the first time around i played it on PS3, but this is just a big FU to all PC gamers. By far the worst port I have ever played.

Damn those look sexy. I'm amazed how much iCEnhancer has done for GTA IV, it looks incredible.

yeah, and he's using a hexacore i7 with a 680 @ almost 1300mhz, should play the game easily

So? You need a NASA super computer to run the crappy game at 1080p 60fps (let alone beyond that), and that's without mods.
